So I took three pairs of shoes to Arturos in Beverly Hills today because they needed some refreshing. My black Bruno Maglis needed to be resoled after the rubbers on the bottom peeled off, my Dolces just needed a good shining, and a pair of Ferragamo loafers had some water spots. The Brunos and Dolces were pretty straight forward. The Ferragamos, he told me, would need to be re-dyed, and probably would not look very good. He said he wouldn't be able to match the browns exactly, and that I probably wouldn't be happy with the result. He suggested dying the shoes black instead. I said OK right away because I knew that in their current form these were unfit for dress and good only with jeans. I'm curious, though, who else has had something like this done. If I don't like the result, well, then I've spent $40 and have black shoes for with jeans instead of brown, lol, so I don't really care. But I wouldn't mind hearing some stories none the less.
