Red Wing Iron Rangers vs. Wolverine 1000 Miles

Hey guys,

I am torn between the IR and the 1Kers. Does anyone happen to have side by side pictures comparing the 2?

I want to go for the more rugged look. Not really gonna wear anything dressy, just casual w/ slim jeans.

Brand new 1K's to the right, 3 year old beaten up iorn rangers to the left.
1 year old 1K's in the middle.

I was wondering if you could have a side view of them next to each other and how they look on an outfit.

Also, what do you think about the 2? pros/cons?

Well, the two are completly different IMO.
Although they are both work boots the 1ks are a lot more dressed up.

I didn't buy the 1Ks to replace my IR. The IR are a lot more rugged and can take a serious beating. I use those for snow and rain. They have seen a lot of mud and dirt over the years, and allways clean up nice. (Not cleand up in photos tho).
I'm not so sure the 1Ks will hold up as well with the same kind of abuse.

If you plan on using them in all kinds of weather I'd say go for the IR.
If you want a sleeker work boot (as far as those goes) I'd say go for the 1Ks.
If you need both, get both.

Sorry about the pics. I don't have the time at the moment to do this properly.
I'll see later if I have the time to clean up the IR's and snap a few pictures for you.
Also I don't have any fitpics of these, and I have not started using the 1Ks yet.

dept, how did you size them ?
i have a pair of black harness IR's and 1k's are on my radar.

They both run a bit large. About 1/2 a size I'd say.
I'd reccomend you to try them on if you can.

Maybe also consider the RW Beckman. It's kind of a inbetween of both. I really like the "cigar" colorway.

I wear the same size in both the IR and 1000 Mile. To me, the 1000 Miles fit better. IR's always felt a little sloppy to me, but I love the looks and like the soles much more.

I can fit 1 finger with wiggle room in the back of my iron rangers when I wear mid weight socks. Do you think I should size down 0.5?
