I'm a tall guy 6'3", how low should casual fall jackets fall? If it goes just at the belt, does my longer legs make this fit look off?

Depends on the jacket really. If you're looking at a sportcoat that falls at the belt, that would look very, very odd. I have a friend getting married in a few weeks, but I'm only going to the reception because she's Mormon and I can't go to the ceremony. What should I wear? I'm thinking some navy pants, plain white shirt, and a light gray wool tie. I don't think I really need to wear a suit seeing as how I'm only going to the reception. And because it's 95 degrees outside..

To what extent do I need to worry about dry/raw denim bleeding onto other things? I have read some posts about the indigo coming off onto sneakers etc. Which is fine. But do I need to worry about it coming off onto furniture? my car? etc.

xpost from noob thread: This is about my 8millionth winter coat question. Lately my style has been going towards a young trad/ ivy league style. For example, a lot of the scans on the heavy tweed jacket blog. A lot of the photos that are scanned are before football games and I spend a lot of time at high school and college football games in the fall and winter. I like that they look good without going overboard(jeans, wrinkly button up, beanboots/mocs), and it can be worn in high school. I am picking up a cheap version of the baracuta for fall, but still need something for winter. That paragraph was probably confusing so to sum it up: Need a winter jacket that works with button ups, jeans, sneakers or mocs, and will be good for wearing in freezing cold temperatures in high school and at sporting events. It must be pretty cheap, I am 15 and will outgrow this. Here are some of my ideas. http://www.landsend.com/pp/Weatherly...FP-_-data_feed Lands End Boys Weatherly Jacket(navy) http://www.landsend.com/pp/Squall174...FP-_-data_feed Lands End Boys Squall Parka(navy) Both Jackets look really warm, but I am not sure if they would be "stylish" enough for what I am going for Other options: N-3b military snorkel parka(decent, but I would prefer something in navy) I think my best bet is just a plain down parka(assuming they are warm, I have never owned one). Can anyone recommend some that unlike uniqlo, are not shiny. Another option is getting something from carhartt

Careful for white-leather sofas and chairs.
Anything white that the denim can bleed on.

Don't.

It's very GQ but in most cases the tie should be darker than the shirt. If you don't want it to look like an ensemble, this is quite difficult. I'd say go tie-less, with a few buttons undone.

I would never normally wear a navy shirt with a tie...but I have no choice on this occasion. I have a pink seersucker tie I never wear...maybe I'll try that.

Where would one get/find a similar duffle coat to the one shown here on the right? The A.P.C ones are far too pricey....

This is from the A.P.C F/W '10 Collection.

Maybe one in plaid (similar to the one on the left) (I know these are women's duffle coats.. I'm looking for mens!)

Thanks!

Hey, as long as your clothes fit, it'll probably be OK. Go patterned rather than solid.
