question about the B&S thread:

- can i create a post announcing that i am 'in the market' for a particular item?
say, AE park aves black size 9 ?
if not, would there be a more appropriate venue to do so?

- also, what does 'bump' mean?

thx

--sure, people post 'WTB' ads: Want to Buy

--bumping a thread is to make a (usually pointless) post to bring it to the top of the thread list. Nothing wrong with a bump or two, but tolerance for them decreases like a negative exponential function.

Couple raw denim questions:

been wearing my matchsticks a couple weeks now, but while at a BBQ with some friends I got a drop of BBQ sauce on it which I only noticed later. I couldn't scrape it off so I used a little cold water to rub it off, of course later I remembered this was raw denim, and now there's a little discoloration. The spot is tiny and inconsequential really, but it got me thinking about contact with any water, like rain. The climate in the Pacific NW is a little more wet than the amazon rainforest, does this mean I can't wear raw denim when it's raining for fear of unevenly setting the indigo dye?

Secondly, when I do wash these, under what circumstances should I do it? The jeans could be a little more snug, but I'd also like the inseams to not get any shorter.

+1 to the above except I would never hot soak jeans unless they were too baggy.

I got completely soaked in my APCs when they were raw, and had to wear them home for 3 hours in the car with the heat blasting, and that set the creases pretty well but didn't fade them a whole lot. My legs and boxers were a bit blue though.

Well, they are a little baggy, I could definitely have sized down to a 30 or 31 instead of 32.

So if I understand correctly, after the first soak/wash the dye will be pretty much set, and they wont fade anymore?

Also, I'm guessing after the soak they should be hung and drip-dried?

They'll still fade. Indigo is going to be constantly removed by the denim rubbing against itself and whatever items you rub up against.

Can anyone give me the model names of some Puma sneakers that come in high-top?

I'm thinking of one in particular that came out recently, kind of white or off-white, may have had some embossing or etching on the leather, and with a velcro strap and speed-lacers above the ankle.

Any suggestions for a raincoat that can be rocked dressy or casual. I was thinking about trying to nab up a members only jacket, but that is slightly cliche. I thought I'd see if anyone else had any insight. It has rained 17 straight days w/ no end in sight its either stay inside or get soaked.

thanks in advance.

they look raw, in my (limited) experience if they are selvage they're probably going to be raw too.
