Just wondering what to expect when the shirt arrives.  Slim fit in medium wasn't available and I'm wondering whether I should be expecting a billowy tent.

The linen and regular fitting shirts like the washed aren't baggy at all imo. The work shirts / denim shirts are cut baggier.

Anyone have the macalister chukka / boots? How do the crepe soles hold up? I was thinking about getting a pair but I do a lot of walking in the city.

Does anyone know if the white J. Crew Oxford in Slim Fit is closer to the regular fit of the tonal oxfords, which fit a hair slimmer than the regular medium in my experience? The nearest store doesn't have these, for some reason. (I also have the regular oxford shirt in blue, which is a bit boxy on me.)

I was in the NYC Hudson St store (Ludlow Shop) last week. I was on vacation and didn't have that long to shop but as I was leaving I saw a navy blue suit in the window. It was a two button suit with peak lapels and a ticket pocket. I liked it and instead of going back inside to inquire I figured i'd look online when I got home. Well, on the website I can't find anything that even comes close to resembling that suit. I even talked to customer service and they said that they don't offer anything like that. Does anybody have a clue as to what I was looking at and how I could get it?

I would call the store as they typically have unique versions that are not available elsewhere

I have owned the chukkas for ~3 weeks.

Crepe soles are crepe soles, no matter which company. I'm sure if you do a lot of walking, they will deteriorate faster.

FYI - WIT20 promo is working on EVERYTHING! Just ordered myself a Barbour Skyoil Bedale for $300 ($225 after applying my rewards card).

Tried it on Aldens and it worked.

Anyone have any experience on returns to jcrew B&M without a receipt? They say that they'll give you credit back for what it's selling at at the time. Do they give you any grief over it?

No grief in my experience. I just recently returned a shirt purchased online at my local jcrew without issue.

Can't decide between navy and black on the Equestrian Bedale.

Any thoughts?

I'd say the crepe soles hold up pretty well.  I've had mine for around 2 1/2 - 3 years, and they're still going strong.

Navy. I got the Skyoil Bedale in a dark green shade.

+1 for navy
