The 5 most valuable contributors to the online discussion of classic menswear style and its crafts for the last 10 years
The answer will be subjective, clearly. On the other hand, I believe we can agree on some mega stars. I have no doubt about three of them, in alphabetical order:
Manton
- for his unique capability to communicate specific standards, customs and rules from the universe of the suit
Michael Alden
- for his entertaining anecdotes, stories, idiosyncrasies and views in regard to the art of dressing and bespoke tailoring
Sator
- for his tireless teaching about the historical foundation of the suit and bespoke tailoring
It becomes more difficult with four and five. But, I would like to include Costi from the LL. He is not only extremely knowledgeable and sensitive to the tradition of the suit, but also demonstrates like few others, how you really ought to relate to clothing and shoes bespeaking them from local craftsmen.
Who is the fifth one? Voxsartoria, NJS, Will, RJMan, JeffreyD, Medwards, Mafoofan, and several more are contenders. However, I will choose Will. By shere presence, his ASW has had a huge impact on the online discussion of menswear, although he has a tendency to recycle rather than enlarge the discussion.
