I have less than 3 weeks till the end of my fiscal year. I get compensated on growth, with a ceiling, so I need to aim for a specific number, no higher no lower. Looks like one order that was in the system is getting put off till next year, and another order in the system was entered twice so weneeded to remove it. So I am about 750-800 k under what I need right now, and I have less than 3 weeks to close it up, or no bonus this year, which represents 40% of my annual income.

closed up almost 500K in the past 24 hours. not their yet, but almost there, feeling a lot better

Expecting my second child in about a week. Feel bad to say it, but I'm not looking forward to it at all. I have a routine down now, not looking forward to sleepless nights, had to give up extremely lucrative business opportunities "to be there" during childbirth and the first week, and well, ehh, it's basically a time sink. Am I the only one? I don't know why I can't get into it like most people.

not sure how to respond to this but I hope you have a healthy child and don't miss out on any business opportunities

My wife and I recently had a conversation that touched on this type of thing. It was more abstract, given she's not pregnant and won't be for awhile, but I was sort of saying that, while I think having a second child would be cool, I'm really not blown away by the idea of doing the newborn/infant thing again. It's intense, chaotic, and a ton of work relative to how rewarding it is. As much as I'm glad I had the experience of having a baby in the house, I'm pretty sure I could just be given the next one at about 12 months old and go from there. So I can sort of understand what you're feeling, though I'm not there yet.

Best of luck to you and the family, and I hope your little bundle of hassle joy is strong and healthy.

You don't have the seniority around here to knock on Stitch.

Also, it might do you some good to reflect upon how you're perceived on the forum before you start criticizing other posters.

OH GAWD, I was being sarcastic. What is it with everyone being defensive all the time. :plain:

I'm sure stitch would have picked up on my sarcasm, at least I was expecting him to.

I am the person in my department who schedules classes--i.e., determines who is going to teach what when. I just got done scheduling for the summer semester, and I predict that I am going to receive some angry e-mails. I'm not pissed off now, but I will be when I receive them.

i completely cocked up an online order today. i always use my Amex to buy stuff online, enough so that i have all the details memorized and i just enter all the stuff in as i browse. except that today i developed dyslexia and transposed the numbers twice in a row. so the transaction is rejected. i get mad and try to use my debit card twice in a row and that also gets declined (i still don't know why). finally figured out why my Amex wasn't going through, typed the **** in correctly, and all goes through.

except i am going through my accounts tonight and notice one (legitimate) charge on Amex, and TWO MORE debits on my bank balance. i'm tempted to trust the intelligence of my fellow man and hope the order filler realizes the triple charge for a single order, but i know better. i have the feeling this will be a royal clusterfuck trying to disentangle later
