Power glitch corrupted my desktop PC hard drive. Most of the user data is still there but parts of the OS (Ubuntu Linux) are gone. I now get to download and install the latest version but my defective laptop drive won't burn discs. I had to dig out my wife's Macbook, figure out how to burn ISO images, realize I don't have blank discs, run to the store and buy some and get a UPS too.Originally Posted by bbaquiran

Well the box won't boot anymore. Most likely the motherboard is fried. After 10 years of running almost 24/7, downloading warez, movies, music and TV shows it's shut down for good.
