Went to dinner with my family last night. In the restaurant was this huge whale of a lady eating by herself. At first seeing her eat alone I felt bad for her, but then she photographed every course with her iphone with the flash enabled.

You should have asked for her Tumblr.

join the club. :plain:

im sure it is delightful. im glad too.
:( maybe they should bring reggie back?
:fu: that is horrible. how bad did it get you/how allergic are you to it?

I'm not positive, since it's all over the place in this city, but....my Wednesday night soccer league had a make-up game on Friday. Ball went into the woods next to the field. The woods are thick with the stuff, which I forgot. Some kids (who I suspect are covered in it now) went and got it and threw it to me. I put it into play. I play keeper and therefore wear gloves, that's why I don't have it on my hands. Some of the oil probably transferred from the ball to my gloves to my face. I'm not as allergic as most, in fact, it never used to affect me until about four years ago. It still sucks, I have a lot of meetings this week, including some with external partners, including an FBI meeting I was looking forward to.

Well, for exposition, none of them are real crises. They just feel like it, largely because of how she manages them and adds new stuff to her already hugely packed agenda. Tonight it's "We spent all day in DC and I have to read a book for a book club I signed up for and my parents are coming for brunch so I have to pick up all the stuff I left all over the house all week and I have a meeting to prepare for work Monday morning which I didn't do during the week because etc etc." And it's like this all...the...time.

Yeah, been there done that. Dealing with the fallout as I type this.

facking family drama :cloud: :censored: :cloud:

Yes, been there done that have the t-shirt and needy dog.

I feel your pain. Been dealing with a bit of my own from my lovely siblings.

Yep, been there done that have the souvenir keychain. Good luck and hope it passes soon.

thanks guys. :) and best of luck you guys with yours.

[begin stitch SIL is a **** rant]
so get this ****.

about a month ago we made a small 1st birthday party for my one year old. the attendees were parents and in laws and my sisters kid. over shabbos i saw my brothers (the one married to le ****) brother in law from new york. i asked him why he is here, and he said for the birthday party. i said what party? he was like uh, the one for "A" (cunts and brothers daughter). i was like, oh i didnt know about it. so i ask my brother, and he says to me, well, you guys didnt invite us to your bday party and my wife was really offended, so we didnt invite you guys.

since that made my no sense to me to not invite him, i asked my wife why we didnt invite them, and she says, because they were in new york at the time, and the party was planned last minute. thats why only our parents made it. so i tell this to my brother (and im sure le ***** knew this), and he feels like an ass, says he is sorry, and tells me i should come with the kids. i say how bout mrs. stitch? can she come? and he says no i think that would be a bad idea, he felt bad, but knew his wife wouldnt be good with that. so in essence they are inviting my whole family but not mrs. stitch. i told my parents about it so they wouldnt be blindsided when they got there and we werent there. they are pretty pissed at le ***** about it. my mom kinda doesnt want to go now, but its too last minute, and i dont blame them. tho she said later this week she will tell them if they ever make another event and dont invite everyone, they will not be able to attend as they do not condone such things.

all this over a ******* party for a baby. but the underlying issue is that we have always been a VERY close family of people that all get along, and it is unheard of to make an event and specifically not invite another sibling, or to invite everyone but one siblings spouse. not to mention they went ahead and made huge party out of this, big BBQ, probs invited 30+ people. and said SIL was bragging to my mother about how MANY people she invited.

all i can say is that this is becoming a real pain **********. le **** has become hell bent on making my wife miserable. and all this after my brother and i were making very good progress after the last issue.

i can kill the SIL?
[/rant]

sorry to air all this out. please dont quote it, ill likely edit it all later.

That's terribly stitchy, I thank whatever ephemeral force we atheists thank that my immediate family has no such drama. It's really awful how one vicious and vindictive person marrying in (le **** is an awesome moniker btw) can screw up a family that worked well before and cause everyone so much pain.

Not to take sides, but:

doesn't preclude a "wish you were here" invite.

After reading the past page sounds like some people should read Families and How to Survive Them co authored by John Cleese.

My evil harridan sister in law in her role as executor of my wife's mother's estate, auctioned off the family home last weekend and made a grand over what my brother in law was prepared to pay her. Mind you if she had any sense, and wasn't acting out of some perverted sense of self righteousness, revenge or sheer vile bitchiness she could have sold it to him and saved the estate about 20 grand in Real Estate Agent fee's. When he offered to buy it she told him that he could stand there at auction with everyone else and bid for his family home if he wanted it.

And its 8c this Monday and I am working from home, only me and the dog here, not practical or economical to put the heater on to heat house for one person. My office is at other end of house from where heater is and the electric column oil heater has clapped out and I cant work in the lounge room as the son took laptop to school with him. So I am forced to rug up by wearing two jumpers, heavy corduroy trousers and thick wool socks and ugg boots, ****.

That really sucks stitchy old bean and thank Bertrand Russell that I also don't have to put up with any such assholery in my or my wife's family.

A friend of mine has been married for 10 years and has never met his wife's parents and one of her sisters because they hate whitey.

I'm glad I have such a small family--two people other than me, or at most four, depending on how you count them. I don't have to deal with any of the crap that you guys are describing. I don't know how you put up with it.
