Don't mean to sound like a douche but it would be easier to just buy a starter and put it in yourself, takes about 15 minutes.

No worries. I don't have the tools, environment, or time to replace the starter in my car. It's a several hour job because it's located somewhere funky. Besides, it's covered under my warranty and I'd rather just pay a $100 deductible and get it fixed professionally.

There's nothing professional about a dealership except for the level of cocaine being ingested. I've worked at several of them.

car still won't start despite having changed the starter... they don't know whats wrong.

:brick:

What kind of janky car are you driving and or what kind of janky mechanic doesn't know how to run a diagnostic.

Or they saw you and thought 'pigeon'

It's an e46 330i zhp.

From the description of my issue, they thought it was the starter for sure, so they replaced that.

Turns out the car still won't crank after replacing the starter so they think it's the alarm system disabling the car or something.

Either way, it was the end of the day and the specialist they typically have on hand left early for a wedding. They assumed it was an easy fix so they didn't bother telling me that the specialist wasn't there (despite their having sold me on the fact that they would know how to fix my car because of said specialist's presence).

******* frustrating because now I'm going to miss my appointment with the dealership tomorrow (scheduled to take my car in for a tail light recall). I should have just taken the car to the dealership in the first place instead of leaving it at a mechanic's shop.

******* **** ass ***** piss annoying.

Aren't you a lawyer? How did you ever work at a car dealership?

I wasn't always a lawyer. Had to put my way through college and law school. I've worked a lot of ****** jobs. I like to pretend it adds to my character as a human being and makes sure I don't forget my roots.

Btw Kelly said she wants to tie me up. Not sure how I feel about that. Don't think I trust her.

dont do it.

my mother is in the **** - she can't aford the apartment that she lives in, and she has been fighting it for a while, so now it is pretty late. so now we need to find her a cheaper place, quickly. it'll have to be a lot smaller, so she will have to get rid of all the crap she's been collecting all her life, and she is really attached to her stuff. she's going to be misrable, and it's going to end up costing me money. she really is in a situation that can't come out well, and it just isn't going to get better for her.

really sorry to hear that globe. :(

best wishes to you and your family.

Probably not. But at least I don't have to pay for a mechanic to fix my cars. I can do it all myself which helps full the time to ensure I'm not drinking all the time.

Also one time I replaced a chick's tie rod so she could pass inspection and pretty sure that's why she gave me a *******.

I thought teh Germans made good cars?

Even the space shuttle needs maintenance.

EDIT - and frankly the Japanese probably build the most reliable cars. Well maybe between them and the Rutabagas.

So, will you get the old starter back?
