My toes curl. Kind of like if you are trying to pick up a sock with your foot. I think it is genetic because everybody on my father's side has it too. I was getting a massage once and the lady brought up getting some aperatus to help keep them straight. I couldn't help but think, "shut up and keep rubbing my butt, woman."

Edit: And too add, it was my first and last massage ever.

I took a cab to the airport because there was an extra 10 minutes before the train would show up and I was worried about long holiday security lines.

Now I'm stuck in a cab in heavy traffic at 1 o'clock...wtf

Should have just waited for my train transfer and saved $30

Lost a friend today. He didn't die, just turned into an asshole. Well I guess he always was an asshole, but only now did it get to the point that I could no longer tolerate him. Coming home from a party last night he got into a fight with another friend which led to ranting about how public assistance programs are to help minorities looking for handouts and take money unjustly from the white man's pockets. Yes, he really did say that. He felt that we didn't get comprehend this because we were minorities. He also said that he is more "American" than we will ever be. I tried to shrug it off and blame it on his drunkenness, but his "apology" today proved that he truly feels this way. It took so much restraint not to kill him. My family was on WIC until I was about 5 years old. I didn't tell him this. I don't want to tell him anything anymore.

Be careful, he sounds like he might post on Style Forum.

It sucks to lose friends.

Here's some advice;

He doesn't know the fact that your family relied on the type of service that he was ranting against. There also might be something that you don't know about him. If he was a good friend, I think it's worth talking to him about it and explaining where you are coming from. People are going through a lot of tough times financially, and it isn't exactly the easiest time to be a tax paying citizen of this country. That gives him no excuse whatsoever to have been an asshole, but true friendship is about understanding, even when we are faced with someone who is far from their best at certain points. If he still sees it the same way, without qualification or apology, and nothing mitigates the severity of how he expresses this opinion, then **** him and move on. But, life is too short to let go of relationships that can actually become stronger once both people have given each other a chance to learn something more about the other.

Raw deal, bro. At least it'll probably be over with in a day or so. Otherwise I see a diet of flat 7-Up and soda crackers in your future as your X-mas dinner.

Had a big pre-Xmas dinner with the immediate family at one of our favorite Mexican joints. My grandmother had a few margaritas and at one point quipped, "Well, you shouldn't be buying presents for me anyways, I don't have time to enjoy them." Everyone kind of dismissed her comment but the harsh reality is she's not wrong. I don't know if she'll be here next Christmas.

My in-laws love taking pictures, especially at Christmas, but don't understand basic photography concepts like "zooming" and "cropping." This leads to a lot of ridiculous positioning, people walking forward and back, heads squashed together to fit in frame, etc. Sigh.

You remind me of Andy Bernard in a way. Except you didn't even go to Cornell.

(in reference to him saying "If my grandmother ever dies, I will kill myself")

Old people sometimes like black humor. Just go with it and don't worry, just enjoy the time you have with her now.

this couldn't be more true. When we get old we know when time is running low.... hopefully we can be content with a life well lived and enjoy what's left. But it can be uncomfortable for us young'uns... my grandmother used to do this as well... coincidentally and usually after a couple glasses of vino!
