Plans cancelled on me again. For the, what is it now, 5th week in a row. So where did I end up? That's right - karaoke, alone. Again.

Only made it out for one song last night but I was in a sour ******* mood so I'm sure it didn't matter much. Not even a single drink either.

I've got to move out of here.

I started a load of laundry and realized I bought some tide specifically for high efficiency machines...

I have a very low efficiency machine...should I use more than they suggest for an HE load (since regular machines use a lot more water) or just follow the directions on the bottle?

Does the bartender smile or groan when you enter the premises?

The women on my mom's side of the family are the McGuyvers of creating conflict. "OK, I've got a sewing needle and some Facebook pictures." Moments later, bam, controversy.

My brother's soon-to-be-ex wife is still Facebook friends with members of my family, which has caused some issues in the past. She recently visited her brother, who lives in another state, and later made a picture of the two of them her new default Facebook picture. Now my aunts who are Facebook friends with her are insisting that she only posted that picture to create the impression that she's already with another guy. Keep in mind that this_is_her_god_damn_BROTHER in the picture with her.

Same, seems like everyone is doing/not doing something and I'm left in limbo. I need new friends.

Where in the hell do you live where your only entertainment in a karaoke bar? What are you, a Korean businessman? My night was similar, my two friends I went out with got tired around 11 while I remained wide awake, so I had no desire to go home. Instead I just posted up at a bar, chatted it up with some random people and got a number from an attractive girl. All and all, I had a great time by myself and I didn't even have to resort to singing depressing ballads to strangers by myself.

LOL. That made me laugh. Thanks Nilly. I could have gone out by myself, no problem, but this ******* bullshit at home has me in a poor mood most nights. I suppose I have trouble lifting myself out of it. Just for the record - I sang some Skynyrd. That **** ain't depressin'.

Every song at karaoke is depressing if you're there by yourself. You need a change of scenery (and a boulder to fall on your roommate). Instead of that karaoke place, take advantage of summer and find a chill place with an outdoor patio/rooftop or go see a local band, it doesn't matter if they're that good, just go. If you have any charisma, it shouldn't be hard to meet random people.

CDFS: thanks, and you're right. Something is definitely going on in this country, but don't quite know what either, other than there seems to be a ton of pent-up frustration that's spilling out in odd ways, like the recent hockey riots in Van. People just aren't as nice it seems, then, a lot of grin-and-bare it has been going on here for years, I suppose. Hate to say it, but winter will be back soon, and that tends to cool things down, until the next NHL hockey play-offs that is
