LOL, a girl I slept with during my last year of college up and disappeared one day before finals. I graduated, and the next time I heard from her was 6 or so months later. She'd gotten married and was holding an after-the-fact celebration. She was an awful lay, so I didn't feel bad at not sending anything.

Just lost a consulting gig that would have taken me six hours a month and put 60k in my pocket.

Damn son, that is one hell of a billable hour rate! My job has basically dissolved. My boss/B-I-L didn't even have the nerve to tell me. He ducked my calls and emails for a week, and then basically beat around the bush that we didn't have anything to do for the foreseeable future. Pretty **** bag move.

That's awful. I refuse to even go to baby showers.

Sorry to hear this B, hope you can get something fast.

Yeah, that was a crazy per hour rate, no? It was for a very specialized thing (that only a few people state wide could do), with a very unusual arrangement, that worked for both parties.

I hope it wasn't finding out what the general population of an area should be to support a provider specialty.

On a serious note, my wife and I were attempting to move to Boston and this throws a wrench in the plans. I worked from home previously, so all we had to do was find a job for her and we were set. Since the wife is a teacher we can't move until the summer time. It is an awkward amount of time for me to get a job here, and then quit to move to Boston.

Damn that sucks - hope you can get something lined up in the meantime.

...

Just realized today as I signed up for what ought to be my last semester of classes...that if I'd taken just one more class this semester (bringing my total up to 2 classes), I would be done. Instead I'm missing a deadline to get grandfathered in, and now I have two more classes that are required. dammit.
