What happened to it? Is it too expensive to fix?
Yep - brain cancer, stage IV when it was found, a bit over a year ago. Thinking back, she started making some strange/foolish life decisions at 19 or so - which makes me wonder when it all started and whether it might have been caught earlier. But, doesn't every 19-year-old make stupid decisions? What is probably not helping matters is that her dad was optimistic. We estimated she had 2 years to live, tops, based on our casual research, but he kept talking about recovery. Kinda hard to work mortality statistics into THAT conversation, and after a while you start to believe with him, or at least you want to.
