Why are hipsters so into waiting in line for brunch?

on the east coast they wait on line for cupcakes

FTFY.

At least fixed that for NYC.

I rarely do brunch, maybe once a year, and the last one I did cost me over $200 for three people :fu:

am not a hipster, nor do i wait in line since i am seated upon arrival.

not helpful for your thread but you're welcome :)

It's when they wake up. Also, they don't have jobs, nor do they know how to cook, so this satisfies the need for food as well as the constant need to be seen out and seem busy. Duh.

Plus, taking whoever you slept with out in public the next morning is sort of a trophy issue. Bedhead is important. Otherwise she should be wearing one of your shirts, preferably the one you wore the night before.

why do you have to think of it like this ? i quite enjoy a sunday brunch and stroll through the park, perhaps stopping to smell some flowers and sitting on a bench with a beautiful scenery after a satisfying light meal while small children are playing and birds are busy singing.

well this one time we thought we were getting orange juice because she just came with a pitcher and poured it, but the cups were long flutes so i wondered why not short round glasses ?? it was repulsive, i asked the waitress if perhaps their oranges had spoiled. she told me it was a mimosa :embar:
so instead she brought us fresh squeezed orange juice

The last time I went to brunch was in 1999 for my grandparents' 50th anniversary. Apparently it's a big deal.

You should get more friends.

Shah, it is impossible to be a teetotaling hipster, no matter how trendy your clothing/race is. sorry

While I'm far from hispter, I can appreciate brunch. No, I'm not talking about pancakes and omelettes — but there are a few brunch spots I go to 4-5 times a year because their foods are extremely unique, creative, and delicious. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I mean when I'm home I go to brunch every Sunday with my family. My parents are definitely not hipsters nor am I

I don't think matt has anything against brunch. Read more carefully.

I actually like brunch fine, but I'm also bewildered by people who'll wait for an hour or more for some middling breakfast food.
