I am a bit annoyed about the change in the connector. I have an iPod radio, an alarm clock, car charging cradle.... it's not like it's not going to work at all, but I sense this is going to cost me money and pose mechanical challenges.

That's way too big. Plus I don't want a film covering the lens. Just something I can easily take on and off.

Honestly I'll probably go without. Sapphire is very scratch resistant. Worst case scenario you scratch the lens and just get a new back plate.

Yup. A quick Google search showed there are apps that can play FLAC. You have to manually load the music, but I get the impression you guys hate iTunes anyways and would prefer this.

Problem solved.

You included my quote in your response so I thought you were also directing that at me.

I got an elevation dock recently and it is amazing. Luckily they are going to produce replacement pieces to update the dock but god knows when that will actually be.

Fine, the product exists...that doesn't mean it's necessary. :)

But you don't go around putting a nice watch on a variety of flat surfaces face down.

No, but it likely wouldn't matter if you did. I wouldn't, for example, put a sapphire crystal face down on a piece of unfinished granite and then sit on it. On my desk at work? Not a big deal.

Probably right. It's just peace of mind too. I'll probably not bother covering it.

When you take into account the potential loss of image quality as compared to the likelihood of scratching the crystal, the decision becomes a no-brainer (for me). Others, of course, are free to do what they like.

Now, on my nice camera lenses, I am in favor of protective filters. But front elements of lenses are not sapphire crystal, and those filters are high quality glass, not 99 cent pieces of clear plastic film.

I wonder if the new earbuds will actually fit my ears.

Not that it's a big deal, really - I basically never use earbuds unless I'm traveling, and when I am traveling I use shure noise-eliminating earpieces. But it used to gall me that those regular earbuds just didn't even come close to staying in my ears. They were useless.

I don't remember you having freakishly big ears, Douglas.
