I really want those NST's but I really don't want fucked up leather.

I've emailed them about it, just included pictures and asked if it was normal. Sandro said he'd check with the factory and get back to me.

How can uneven finishing around the stitching be normal?  I think you should return the shoes for this reason alone.

You know that. And I know that. But do they know that? Or will they admit it? That's what I'm trying to see.

they are meeting with investors to try and really get things moving, so it will likely be a bit.

I got a response within an hour today.  Re-send it.  Pepe told me previously that a prior e-mail got caught in their spam filter.

Wore my dub monks today and when brushing once I got home I noticed (perhaps the inevitable?) sole split. This is wear 16 or 17 I think, as I do shell during the week normally. Pretty disappointing and now seriously worried about my MTO that I have yet to see. Never had a sole split before, are they still wearable now or does it need to be fixed?

Send them an email they will refund your money or send you another pair.

I took the refund so I could buy another pair of shoes from them.

The spilt is purely cosmetic as these are stitched sole so the split can never open up past the row of stitching.

From my discussion, via email, with Sandro and looking at a pair of more recent shoes, it appears that the splitting problem is a Quality Control issue relating to a

batch of shoes made in the May-June-July period.

Shoes made after August seems to be fine.

I wish they offer the Ama-lasted whole-cut in dark brown so that I could get a pair.

Is the sole actually splitting, or is the join between the layers of the sole just lighter because it is wearing a little more than the rest? I can't tell from the photos, but the latter is normal. If that's the case, just put some polish or other edge dressing on to darken the edges of the soles and call it a day.
