your family has terrible tastes
the persols look the best

haha, this made me laugh.

thanks to the others who confirmed. When the family was dogging me I was thinking that maybe i just liked them because I wanted that style to work on me, and that they were probably right. but the comment about they have no style was funny because it was true when I thought about it.

I re-ordered the persol 714's earlier today, should be getting them tomorrow. also, I'll be taking back both pair of Maui Jims. The Kahunas seemed like policeman sunglasses to me.

Now that I've settled on a brownish pair, I'm thinking of grabbing a blackish pair to keep also. I'm not sure if I should get the 714's for black , or try a different style.

I think you should have kept the Persols. They looked great on you. The other glasses you posted, on you, look really bad IMO. They make you look like thug/mean person. I am not sure if you are going for that aggressive look or not, but it's intimidating.

I did re-order the Persols today.

Yes, I also disliked some of the other styles due to being thug looking on me. I'm definitely not trying to go for that look.

Great decision Bokeh!

Personally I have tried on a dozen pairs of Persols. I really really like them but they don't work for my face (shallow bridge). Extremely frustrating.

did you check any of the info on the "Sunglasses MEGATHREAD" ? We discussed the problem (trick) in finding a pair that fits correctly given the different measurement in lens, bridge, and temple. Even if a certain set of measurements fits in one style model they may not work in another which obviously makes it frustrating. Also, during my own struggles with this issue, I learned from a Persol SA that the models internationally are also not necessarily the same.... there are different models for North America, Europe etc and part of that is style and sales, but part pertains to the construction of the fit and measure for different demographics. In Asia the glasses in that market are particularly suited to the Asian facial structure which would include a shallow or almost non-existent bridge. Maybe you could inquire as to that point in particular. My best advice is to find a store w/ a ton of different models and try them all on!

btw... I tried on at least 2-3 dozen! before I got one that was juuuuusst right.

Yeah I read that thread many times but I didn't walk away with anything useful. This is a reflection of my lack of dedication to the topic, rather than the lack of information. What model(s) did you end up with? Maybe I can try them out and see if they work. I have never found a shop with tons of models. In fact, of all the Sunglass Etc stores I visited, each had a different inventory. The SA's were all really lame too. I would ask for specific models and they had no idea what they looked like or if they even carried them. They ended up pulling out a bin full of glasses (in plastic bags, sans case/box). I asked to sort through them but they wouldn't let me touch them unless they handed a pair to me.
