My last post was awaiting moderator approval but one I posted after it went through. What is this madness.

1.-The shirt's length is fine. You can wear it untucked.
2.-As many people mentioned before, those jeans are way too baggy.
3.-Converse shoes at the gym? SAY WHAT? Get some running shoes ASAP.
4.-Those Clarks shoes look ugly IMO and white sneakers are meant to be wore by clueless fratboys only.

Best suggestion: Buy some suede shoes. Either a dessert boot or a saddle will do the job. If you want to step it up, buy a suede oxford.

Chuck Taylor's. These are the best all around shoe. Chuck Taylor's are efficient & cheap. And they will last forever as lifting shoes.
  • Hard Sole. Sole is thin, flat & incompressible. Your feet are close to the floor. You'll feel your feet better during lifts: more stability & control.
  • Strong Canvas. This allows you to push your feet to the outside onSquats which helps keeping your knees out and activating your glutes.
  • Ankle Mobility. Full ankle mobility with low tops Chuck Taylor's. If you buy high tops, leave the top part unlaced.

Or just google it.

Converses are accepted as fantastic lifting shoes, and running shoes are literally the worst (too much give). Unless you thought I go to the gym to run, but I'm not a woman, so...

My post just got absorbed as waiting for a moderator. Unfortunate.

Re: Zoren, I was just responding to an above poster, complete with quoted text, links to sources, etc. Just google weightlifting shoes and you'll see that Converses are great for that purpose (and running shoes are the worst).

I don't especially like how suede shoes look, and again, the picture must have just had bad lighting or something. They do look ****** in that pic, but they look good IRL.

Is it just me or is a buttondown shirt paired with athletic sneakers a terrible look?
and like others above have said, jeans way too long and baggy. the only shoes that would look good with them would have to be clunky. like work boots or something. imo, the chuck taylors would get swallowed up whole by them.

Why do you even have white sneakers, when you are older than 14?

Wear desert boots, loafers or smth. Or if you absolutely have to wear white sneakers for some dumb reason, go with a t-shirt :satisfied:

chucks with baggy jeans will make you look like a kid who doesnt get it, chucks with too tight jeans will not work either for most. Also, chucks are not the best shoes.. For people with flat feet they may work, otherwise they will cause more damage to your feet than most. People wear chucks to the gym because they are cheap not because they are the best. Also, not only women do cardio and i have been lifting weights for years...

I hate the button-down shirt with jeans look, always have. I think its because I cant pull it off, though (being short it makes it much harder, in my opinion). That said, I think everyone here is giving on point critiques. The problem is the jeans, mainly, because really with those jeans (as someone pointed out) you cannot get away with anything other than clunky sneakers or timberland-type boots. Trust me, I know. I always used to have such baggy jeans and once I started to step up my footwear-game the jeans was a huge issue. Now I only own two great fitting pairs of jeans which could be worn with Chukkas, some low profile sneakers, boat shoes, suede/leather oxfords, derbys, whatever.

Chuck Taylors don't have to be the best to be better than running shoes for going to the gym. I'm afraid to spend more time on a response because I'll be pissed off when it doesn't go through.

Also, about the jeans...upon further reflection, they're not that baggy, and I think the problem is that they were sitting too low on my waist. I didn't even have a belt on in that vid so they were lower than they'd normally be. I was thinking more about the color/style contrast but it would have been a good idea for me to have presented it as it would have looked completed.
