i am from little rock, AR but now live in lexington.

there is stuff to do you just have to know where to look.

Food wise, Loca Luna and Sonny Williams are IMO the best 2 restaurants in little rock.

If you hit up president clinton ave pretty much any night of the week it's a string of bars / pubs that get pretty crowded on a nightly basis. Flying saucer has the best food, Willy D's has the best mix of women / music/ drinks.

On Thursdays Cajun's Warf is the place to be, it's jam packed and they have a deck over the arknasas river where everyone hangs out and drinks. Their food isn't half bad either but no one goes for the food.

West End was probably my fav hangout spot if you like sports, it's in west little rock, about 10 minutes from downtown little rock.

Afterthoughts is a half decent jazz spot but nothing compared to what you get in larger cities, but if you are in town for a week or so it will do.

If you can tell me what you like to do i can name some additional stuff. If you are in town for like a week you should find plenty to keep you busy. It's living there that gets old lol.

PS- do not go east past the clinton libary under any circumstances. That's when you star to get in gang bangin in little rock area. But other than that it's a pretty safe place.

AS far as night outings if you are into that type of things, the way little rock works, because it's not HUGE but it's not what you would call tiny either, there is usually one spot that is really jumping for one night a week, then everyone goes somewhere else the next night. on Thursdays it's cajuns warf, on Wednesday's it's the electric Cowboy, though that's in southwest little rock, not the best part of town, but it's ladies night and it's jam packed if you do make it out. On friday night it's the Rev Room and on Saturday it' either the Rev Room or if you really want to go to a real club go to Disco/discovery which is actually right behind Cajun's warf.

i will tell you now, the women aren't just out of this world. there are some good looking ones but there aren't a hell of alot of them and the ones that are there, think they are demi gods.

not a bad place to go visit, especially if the hogs are playing in little rock for the weekend, but not a place a metropolitan young adult can really live if he has any interest in antyhing lol. But 4-5 days you can stay plenty busy.

I like plays and they have a rep down down, id on'[t know if it's season though. it's not too far from the Clinton library.

if you like history youc an actually see the house that Douglas MacArthur was born in, it's also not far from the Clinton libary on i think state street... wow i'm dumb, it's on MacArthur drive. also central hgh school/little rock 9 has a tour guide, i know because my best friend was one.

Also on 3rd street they have this house that is restored to be a pre civil house which is pretty neat if you have never been there.

Just curious - is the perception of MacArthur generally positive or negative?

most folks here aren't familiar with details of macarthur's life except for him leading the fight against the japanese, the siege in bataan and the liberation. he's still highly regarded here.

Interesting. It's pretty complicated to go into, but my Granddad served with him in both WWII and Korea and his stories about him really had a big impact on my life.

wow. did your granddad do a tour of duty here? the bataan shrine and malinta tunnel are must-sees for you then if your granddad did a tour of duty here. hmmm... maybe a "stories from the old folks" thread isn't a bad idea....
