^^^ It was Quantimil who posted the chocolate brown wingtips. I was just postulating about the possible reasons for the color of his shoes. Definitely get the PTB's. Super shoes. I remember reading here that this thread is essentially only about four pairs of shoes. Penny loafer this summer and Lindrick in the fall, at least thats the plan.^^^

Ah yes Quantimil, the return of the chocolaty brown short wings. Lovely! I like the way they look in the sun. How long have you had them? Mine came from the RL warehouse with so much wax on them that they were almost gummy, so I've held off on the Reno for now. All I've done is wiped them down with a damp cloth and buffed the excrement out of them. Have you thought about putting taps on yours? I'm thinking about going with metal on the toe and plastic on the heel.

I've had them for a couple of weeks now, though the previous owner had worn these a few times before. I suppose they've just had a limited amount of exposure to sunlight. I've only brushed them and buffed with a microfiber cloth.

Spif .. I did recessed metal taps on both PTB and Wingtip. Passed on the heel taps because the heel wear on these is insanely tough, unlike my Alden LWB which wears out stupid quick.

chipshot, thanks for the info. I've also noticed that my alden's seem to wear quicker on the soles when compared to my Marlows, with the exception of my Alden LWB's which have a double water-lock sole. Who did the recessed toe taps for you? I've liked the results that I've seen from people who've used B Nelson for their flush mount toe taps.

Use B Nelson, outstanding job and the toes will always look perfect. .. I don't do this with the Alden LWB however. These Marlows are simply industrial grade when it comes to construction. I didn't do it on the Marlow Penny and Tassel and now regret it as the toes aren't perfect. B Nelson told me he could repair them and then install the metal tips. I forget the gentlemans name, it's not B Nelson. If I find it I,will shoot it, over to ya... Very nice gentleman...

Looking very good! interesting how they look long rather than chunky. You've got me thinking about wearing mine now!
Sir, thank you very much. Stop thinking and start wearing. I wear mine all day without thinking about my feet. They're a very comfortable shoe IMO.
