The UFC bought out the WFA. The most notable acquisition is the contract of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, one of three men to defeat current UFC LHW Champion Chuck Liddell.

Rumors are swirling that top HW Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic is going to defect from Pride to the UFC. Having witnessed the debacle that was Tim Sylvia's last fight, that is very good news if it happens.

Im looking forward to Chuck v Tito pt 2. Would love to see Chuck beat him so bad not even Jenna can console him.

Very tough to call, but I think Chuck could take Jackson this time. In theory be a much better fight than him and Tito.

Bringing Mirko to the UFC heavyweight division would be an awesome move. Sylvia's last fight just proved that: (1) the fans hate him because (2) he's the most boring fighter in the world. All he did was run away from Jeff Monson for 5 rounds and win the fight. I can see Brandon Vera getting a shot at Sylvia and beating him, which would set up a couple of good matches. First, you give Mirko a fight with an Arlovski just to introduce him to the UFC, then you give him a fight with Sylvia, and then you give him a title shot against Vera (or reverse that if somehow Sylvia manages to beat Vera).

agree - that Sylvia fight just plain sucked. At that size he is nigh on unbeatable though. His takedown defence was good, and when he did find himself on his back, all he did was hold Monson in his guard at a distance where he simply couldnt reach to ground and pound, and then wait it out.

Stand up, run away, take down, stretch out, repeat.

He definitely won it, no disputing that, but it was crappy viewing.

How many times has he beaten Tito? 2? 3? I hope he beats him again.

What if the unthinkable happens and Tito wins? That would certainly shake things up a bit.

Didn't Quentin Jackson get tossed halfway out of the ring by Wanderlei Silva? Being strong enough to body slam your opponent is not a "strategy," at least not one that would work against Chuck Liddell. If Chuck can keep his feet against Toto "Thalidomide Arms" Ortiz, he will win. If Toto (sic) gets it to the ground, however, look out. Sprawl baby, sprawl!

As far as Cro Cop is concerned, isn't Fedor the champ? I'd rather see Fedor take out Tim Sylvia as Cro Cop can't kick that high.

Tito and Chuck used to train together. When Tito was the UFC LHW champion and Chuck was the #1 contender, Tito claimed that they were friends and had an agreement that they would never fight. Chuck claimed that there was no such agreement. Rumor on the street is that Tito did not want to fight Chuck because Chuck got the better of the sparring sessions.

the longevity of the MMA boys is quite impressive when you think about it.

When I dug up that Sherdog link to check how many times Tito and Chuck had fought I noticed that next week will be Chucks 37th birthday. Consider he took his title from a 40 year old Couture, and that is a pretty impressive career span for a sport that you would think would be a young man's game.

Am I the only one that thinks their last fight was a work so as to set up the rubber match? Hughes just did not seem like himself. He wasn't defending, his hands were down around his waist the whole time, there was just something off about that fight.
