Although you'll get some brutal honesty here - emphasis on the brutal - I'm not sure you should aspire to the prevailing style of the best dressed members of SF. Learn the basic guidelines from how they dress, but generally it's much to conservative for any teenager. You'll be better served by the style prevailing among the Tumblogs devoted to menswear, which generally have a younger, more casual aesthetic.

Not bad (critique was already given), I esp. like the tie and the second shirt. Maybe some advice: your question was formulated in a way that does attract more ridicule and condencension than if you e.g. had more neutrally written 'Could you please give me advice on improving my style?' because it was a bit 'leading' meaning that it wanted to direct the presupposed answers in a certain way (It's not that bad for a 16 year old, is it?); ppl don't like that cause they don't want to be told how to react, esp. not Americans who are overly prominent here on this forum (like a pest! j/k).

Come on, there's more to women then their vaginas. Try flipping one over and you'll see.

I think his stuff are pretty good for a teenager. BTW you said you have $300 budget on suits? Do you wear it often? is the school require students wear suits? If this is the case I do strong suggest you to get a online MTM suit online (indochinos)

I am sure you don't dress like this everyday in the school do you? It is only for formal events and summer job interview? If you don't need a suit everyday get a nice blazer from sales thread here, get it tailored, that will be for some special occasion e.g. dates, going out...etc

For you, I would suggest investing more on causal shirts (e.g. uniquo oxford, RL button downs on sales), nice jeans (Selvage uniquo will do), leather shoes (grenson, red wing), in that way you look more suitable in your age group, and get to enjoy your clothes as well.

I used to buy quiet a few blazer and suits when A level because of the requirement of my school, when I came to univeristy I realized I have made a mistake and sold most of my formal stuff.

If you want further advice, go to streetwear page and the guys in there will be able to help you

p.s. I got to admit your collar need to be improve, don't worry everyone makes the same mistake.... most of the forum members are right, if you dress to aim for girls at your age, DO NOT BOTHER, girls in your age (TBH mine as well) generally have very bad style advise for man. I remember my ex thought Jack Wills jeans are nice, my reaction is
ffffuuuu.gif
, but obviously I did not tell her....

For Jackets to put on in winter, look for a nice leather jacket, you seems quiet skinny so I suggest a bomber or cafe racer style. Do look for a good leather material because everyone can tell that, both girls and boys.

Good Luck

The douchebags ******** all over some 16 year old kid who's just trying to experiment and enjoy himself need to reexamine the purpose for their existence. ******* embarrassing.

When I was 16, I was a raver. So you can do a lot worse.

You'll get the girls you actually want that way, and you won't look like a prick.
I think there's some truth to this. If a girl's into you for the brand names of your clothing, you need to move on imo. But I never wanted to play the game just to get into some girl's pants. If you have a strong sense of self and are obviously in pursuit of excellence, you have girls throwing themselves at you, regardless of the labels on/in your clothing.

+1 too. He said he only wore ties when it was appropriate and others wore them. You will quickly find that not everyone's opinion is equally valid on SF. This thread has brought out

You and Zeemon are truly disgusting and saddening. But since I agree w/ Fr. Flanagan that there are no bad boys, only boys who do bad things, I have hope for your coming maturity.

You will grow out of it in a few years time. Scour ebay for hidden gems, bad descriptions and horrible pictures will often hide a fine quality item that can be had for a bargain! I've only been sartorially active for half a year but my wardrobe is quite huge by now. Sure, I've had buyer's remorse one or two times but generally I like all that I've purchased.
Thanks for the helpful posts, guys.

Suits/jackets make you look like a nerd when you're in high school, particularly the way they tend to end up fitting people around that age -- in HS I had to wear a uniform with a tie, and had no choice, but everyone leapt at the opportunity to wear jeans and t-shirts on "grub days." (...) To say that 16 year old girls "know better" (by SF's hermetically inbred standards) than to valorize mainstream designer labels is so stupid as to be offensive. No high-school girl (or guy, for that matter, outside of such narrow trust-fund-baby criteria as to be a meaningless demographic) has ever even heard of Kiton.
Such a stupid little response. You do realise we don't all live in the smalltown USA world that you were brought up in? I can tell you the girls I went to school with didn't valorise branded Gucci because it's ******* tacky and tasteless. And girls definitely loved the guys that could pull off a good fitting suit (we favoured extremely close fitting suits at that age, because we were obsessed with looking 'big', i.e., muscular). How do you know the OP doesn't have to wear a suit at school? And besides, I didn't even say he should wear jackets and suits and brands like Kiton (I suggested he wear jeans); I just said he shouldn't be put off wanting to look stylish and valuing high quality. Why would you tell any 16 year old with an interest in style to pander do the desires of the dumb little bitches that only care about how many brands you're wearing & therefore how rich your dad is? I know girls I slept with and dated absolutely loved the way I dressed, and they continue to do so. So **** you.

+1! This is supposed to be an iGent forum. Of course, every man likes to get his willy wet, but you've got to do it with a bit of class.
