Hi Guys,

is there any way to have US meats or cheeses or liquors delivered to Germany? I mean a website or company that does it. I have a best friend in germany whose family i want to send something special to. with globalization, I was thinking the best I could do is send some wisconsin cheese and maybe buffalo steaks or bourbon that would be unavailable in europe.

any suggestions?

thanks.

I believe Artisanal ships some cheeses overseas... http://www.artisanalcheese.com/ Many won't as it's expensive and not every cheese can be shipped due to regulations.

why do you hate superior produce?

Meat and cheese are going to be hard.

This is a good site for American crap that ships to Germany:
http://www.americanfood4u.com/

It has some bourbon, I think, but it focuses more on stuff like Dr. Pepper Diet Cherry Soda.

Seriously. Doesn't the cheese and meat importation usually go in the other direction? If I lived within spitting distance of French cheese, German sausage, and Spanish ham, I'd never eat another partially-hydrogenated/high-fructose American product again.

That's too general- there's a wealth of artisinal American cheeses, charcuterie, etc that compete with the best anywhere.

thanks for the help guys. havent checked this in awhile. as an answer to the why send US products to Europe where there are superior ones, I was thinking more in terms of with globalisation, there's nothing new or interesting to send some one. I'm in colorado, so I thought Bison Or Buffalo meat would be a cool thing to send to some meat crazy germans. I could be wrong, but I dont think there is very much Bison meat there. I will send some Bourbon and Whiskey as well. as far as cheese, I just thought maybe there would be something good here that they can never get there, not superior, but good, different, and unattainable. thanks.

Agree there's good stuff here but US cheeses that "compete with the best anywhere", not so sure...

As far as meats go, the US is clearly > than Germany in quality beef steaks. Plus you've got the whole domain of barbecue, which doesn't really exist over there. You could also go the route of seafood -- lobster, for example.

Considering that in the world competition the last few years the winners have been from the US...

As I continue to research and consider opening a cheese related business and have gone through way too many pounds of some of the best cheeses I can get my hands on... we do compete here in the US.

Stupid raw milk regulations really get in the way for some types unfortunately; though this is starting to happen overseas as well, but that's a different threak.

US cheeses will be able to compete when the US builds a better form of cheese consumer. Until then, no matter how good the raw ingredients, they will continue, like US wines, to appeal to a consumer who does not believe in subtlety and doesn't want a lot of the traditional, tougher flavors cropping up. So he gets mediocre cheese.

Why the hell would you want to ship inferior products to a country where they can get a much better version of what you're sending them for less than what you paid?
