Off Saks Suits - do they discount even more?

So there is a Isaia suit at the local Off Saks that doesn't have the sleeve buttons. Has anyone had luck getting additional discounts when dealing with them? The suit is currently 40% off this week and its at $900 right now. Seems like a fair price, but since this would be my first decent suit and will need additional tailoring since they will have to change out the other buttons, not really sure what this additional tailoring will cost.

There is an unspoken standing 10% "damage" discount, but it makes it a final sale without returns, and most managers dont give it, unless you schmooze them really good.

edit - Check for some Isaia Corrallorossos too - they are like $479 this week with the discounts. Cant beat that at ALL.

Sometimes they offer a discount coupon between 30-40% off. Although, more times than not, it is only for normal prices and not already marked down merchandise.

Thanks Spoo for the heads up. Will be stopping by later this afternoon to check. Desperately wanting a navy suit.

Since I dont have a More card, do you know if they are still giving additional discount on the first purchase if i sign up for one?

Also it was an Argento, dark grey with a subtle windowpane. My other question would be...to cuff or not to cuff?

More card does not work on top of the advertised 40% off suit sale. It's mostly regularly priced items, and it's about 20-30% depending on the promotion.

I've been successful at getting a final sale, additional 10% off an RLPL blazer before because it was missing the brass sleeve buttons. Extra $40 savings, and the replacements only cost me around $10.

Wait, so is that 900 - 40%? Because in that case, I would say go for it. Putting buttons won't be particularly expensive, and if the suit fits otherwise, $540 is a great price for an isaia.

I know if you have either a Military family member or AAA insurance, you get an extra 20% on top of everything (that or $20 off every $100 spent, dont remember). Take advantage of that too.

Including final sale/discounted items? Can you (or anyone) personally verify this?

The store's sale associate told us at the Ontario Off Fifth Saks, and they told us that if you have a military card, you get $20 bucks off every $100 bucks u use, and this stacks on all other discounts/coupons. This was last weekend and I didnt buy anything over $100, therefore I dont have any receipt to verify this, but you can try asking for military/AAA discount next time you stop by Off 5th Saks.

I shop at Off 5ths a bunch and no, don't expect to see them priced lower. Most Off 5ths carry Isaia in thier regular stock so you won't see them get put on a clearance rack at some sick low price. Its only when the merchandise is shipped in from the main stores, is in small qty and isn't part of thier normal standing inventory that you can wait for it to go to clearance after a while (i.e., sell at ~15-20% of retail)

BUT if you found something you really like, fits well, is verasatile, and you need it then I'd still consider it.

I've snagged some real bargains from time to time. Today at a different store, I just bought a mainline Corneliani mid-grey pinstripe suit for $370. I've bought mainline Canali suits for ~$330 in the past. But good finds in my size don't come around often so I don't buy things very often and for some insane reason I enjoy shopping so its OK

If you are a very large size, then you might have more luck waiting and trying to poach huge steals off the clearance rack.

The Corrallorosso suits at Off 5th are inferior to the ones at Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack. The models at Off 5th are only half canvas and have pre-attached buttons.

Absolutely! Just ask a salesman or (preferably) a manager. If you don't ask, you won't get.

I got an absolutely obscene deal on a Zegna tux at Off 5th by asking.
