I'm considering doing it with a bang and quietly (on different nights).
any celebration stories or tales of woe?

and making this SF relevant, I'm trying to decide what to get myself for becoming a big boy.

#grailshoe?
#grailsportscoat?
#grailwatch?

open to suggestions for all.

The day of my 30th birthday I flew to Miami, jumped on a cruise ship, and set sail for the Caribbean with my wife and a couple with whom we're very close. I spent the trip drinking heavily, enjoying the sights at the ports of call, and winning in the casino.

On my 30th birthday I didn't feel well, but went to work. I felt worse, and went to the doctor. The nurse put me in the room to wait for the doctor. He walked in with my chart in his hand, and said "here's the problem. Your warranty just ran out. Happy birthday."

The exact moment I turned 30 I believe I was parking. I went to the office, had a normal day at work, and then with about 40 or 50 friends we had bought up a big section of the bleachers at Camden Yards and we watched the O's vs. Nationals. I still have a pair of the tickets on my bulletin board at work. They even put my name up on the big screen for a minute. Unfortunately, they spelled it "Douglass."

I'm not some Orioles superfan or anything, I go to just a few games a year, but it was a really nice fun way to get a bunch of people together and enjoy a beautiful evening outside taking in a casual game. The next weekend my fiancee had planned a surprise party for me. They caught me 100% off-guard.

Snorted a huge pile of coke, smeared the rest on the end of ******* and screwed like an invading Hun for several hours. Pretty sure RubeBabeII™ was conceived that night.

again, you're the man!

I honestly don't think that I did anything special. I might have been at a trade show. I had broken up with a girlfriend recently. I got a tatoo. that's about it

Surprised no one said "By not dying the previous 29 years".
