Ramadan just finished here so the bars are open again... therefore a couple of Campari and tonics as an aperatif followed by a Black Label after the meal

What, you want me to pull out the bottle at work and just start sipping and muttering to myself about floral notes and cocoa undertones?

I'll do it when I get home, I was going to post last night but it wasn't fresh enough on my mind or tongue. I don't want to post a subpar review, after all.

It'll make folks think you're interesting if you did do that...

Indeed ... better vermouth will dramatically change your cocktails. I recommend Vya or Carpano Antica in Sweet and Vya in dry.

Spiced wine-based aparitifs like vermouth do not spoil like wine, they take much, much longer, especially when properly stored.

Store it in the refrigerator with a 'wine saver' spray applied immediately following each use. You'll be surprised at the longevity.

Vya, thankfully, is also available in 375ML bottles.

Ok, here goes: Aroma reminds me of cherries and plums. Very smooth with a light bite towards the end. Some kind of vaguely cocoa flavor, and a pretty long finish that brings, again, cherries and some cinnamon notes. Almost jammy throughout. Wow, I'm pretentious.

It's not the most complex or deep port, but it avoids the trap of being overly sweet, and it has a lingering aftertaste that I quite like. I could see it going well with something like tiramisu. Important - it comes in 500, rather than 750, bottles.

Nice. I might have to get a bottle. If you come across some Yulumba Museum Muscat, give it a try. Very cheap, like $15 or so, and huge cinnamon and butterscotch tastes.

Hennessy VSOP.

I just decided on a whim to try out some Cognac. Never really been much of a Cognac drinker, but I like it. Any other recommendations?
