"you're a double shot of bourbon on the rocks with just a splash of ginger [ale]"

-Coffee & Cigarettes, American Aquarium

I'm in Japan cpt. Perhaps its a hot drink where you are but not here. I asked for it because its mentioned in this thread often. I don't recall what was in the second cocktail except I asked for a cocktail that uses eggs and that was what I got. Yes, I asked for him to be creative. Maybe its called Pink Pearl not Pink Pearl Flip.

Searching the net, absolutdrinks.com lists the ingredients as
12 Parts Grapefruit Juice
1 Part Egg Yolk
1 Splash Grenadine
1 Splash Lemon Juice

^You seem to be lacking liquor...

I did find it under pink pearl, and it's apparently supposed to be a rum drink, not a vodka one. Absolut is just trying to claim it, I guess. Grapefruit, lemon, grenadine, light rum, egg white. Sounds pretty good.

And you're right about the Japan thing. I did not notice that at all when I first read your post.

I usually go for Tanqueray or Tanqueray Ten... sometimes Plymouth. Some ice (obviously) and Canada Dry or Schweppes tonic. Off-brand tonics taste just that ..."off" somehow. I used to be strictly limes... or nothing. But I've been in Hong Kong a few months where limes are scarce and absurdly expensive at times. My girlfriend took to buying lemons as she prefers them and I may have come around. Lemons in the G&T are pretty good... but given a choice I think I still prefer limes. I usually make it a bit on the strong side and then let it "marinate" for a few minutes to let the ice mellow it a touch. MMmmmmm... refreshing!

Black Grouse. Almost finished the bottle too - which is a bit scary.

Currently drinking some Fuller's ESB. Some decent stuff there.

Later in the day I'll have some G&T's (Hendricks or Bombay, with a garnish of either lime or cucumber), and after reading a few posts above I guess I'll have to check out Fever Tree, as the tonic I've always used is Schweppes. Wouldn't hurt to try out new things every now and then.

Just had a nice Orval, and poured myself a bit of Crag 12. I've finished all of my assignments for the semester and have over a week until my first exam, and based on the past few weeks workload, I've earned a little relaxation

Looking forward to snagging myself a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask soon, now that I've polished off my Balvenie Doublewood. I like to keep two scotches on hand, just because.

^Out of curiosity, which version? The crappy stuff they make is horrible, their high end stuff isn't bad at all and warrants drinking straight.

And I'm having a gin sling with dinner. Or rather, I've started the gin sling and will be adding dinner soon.

I don't know if it has a name, but it's basically a perfect Manhattan with orange bitters and a dash of fresh orange juice.

Well after posting saying how I'll look for some Fever Tonic, I haven't really gotten out of my house yet but I did look it up, and CalgaryHerald reports that for $5 you can get four small bottles of their tonic water at various select gourmet shops :O I'll make some trips tomorrow and looking at some reviews looks like it I'll have to start replacing Schweppes with Fever's!

For now until tomorrow... a G&T with Hendrick's and Schweppes, with a slice of cucumber.
