I have stopped my self to take soft drinks and beverages due to fat problem.Currently i am taking green tea which is best for burning the calories and it also helps stomach to digest the food properly.

Yes you can safely substitute Angostura for Peychaud; both are bitters. Yes they taste different and will result in a slightly different tasting old fashioned. It may be more to you liking. Try it, you might like it.

what do you brew your tea in?

i was considering getting a gaiwan tea set for gong fu cha but then i found about ru kiln celadon pots and artisanal tea pots and i ended up not buying any because i dont want to spend money on something i'll throw or give away later.

At the moment in a very improvised setting (Mariage Frères tea cup, 1 measuring cup for measuring the water and cooling, 1 thermometer, 1 sieve, 1 measuring cup for brewing...). I really want a tokaname tea pot. http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/tokoname/tokonameindex.htm (though I don't like the look of most of the ones pictured there) Or some other clay one. http://hojotea.com/categ_e/teapote.htm <- Great page, btw (for general information about tea and brewing times).

i really want a tokoname tea pot too. or a yixing one. but i like the patina that develops in the cracks of celadon a lot. also the xu de jia stuff i posted have this gorgeous almost soft translucent quality to them that i havent seen elsewhere. something about underfiring his pots.

Damn, that tea set is sexy. I love tea ceremony and preparation.

Last tea house I went to was in Singapore, brought back some nice pu-erh tea from there, but I've finished the last of it :(

Just sipping on some generic herbal tea for now...

Sweet Martini, complete with orange bitters, a bottle of which I have finally found locally, in a grocery store, of all places. Very nice drink, really. Having some sardines on cheese and crackers on the side, also known as 'dinner'.

is that "sweet martini" a particular kind of cocktail or a catch-all term for something? I Googled it but there were many variations. Cheese, crackers, sardines (or any kind of cured/prepared meats) are my guilty pleasures... eating my veggies now so as to avoid the guilty part! happy.gif

and fwiw... I'm drinking a glass of one of my favorite "swill" wines... Little Penguin Shiraz. Decent enough for table wine but dirt-ass cheap... this is my new Two Buck Chuck. I mean, I know and appreciate good wine, but when you just want a table bottle, have a glass, recork it and not give a fuck.... it will do.

The Martini as made before they started using dry vermouth (where the 'dry' comes from- has nothing to do with ratio). I used a 3:1 ratio (gin and sweet vermouth) and 2 dashes orange bitters.
