Interesting, didn't know they had a handgrade Adelaide. The price is steep if all they do is primarily sole repair and a few fringes. At the end of the day it is still cheaper than a new pair I guess.

Agreed, if it is just a resole and other small items maybe it is better off just taking it to your local cobbler.

Was eyeing a pair of black Wesbournes in eBay but the seller shipped to everywhere EXCEPT the US... unfortunately they sold before I could find a proxy

I think the punching too small. Larger punches would be nicer. I have the Wesbournes in chestnut and plan to get the Alfred Sargents in oxblood soon as well.

Looking for some recommendations as to new C&J rubber soled shoes, as I need a pair to beat up when its raining here (its always raining :( )

currently have a pair of Westbournes in chestnut, Wembleys in brown, and 2 suede boots that i forget the names of. one with a rubber danite sole in brown suede and one with a leather sole in blue with a cap toe. :)

I was thinking about about a pair of Hallams in black or A monkton or something but I have way to many cap toes already. maybe a derby instead? Any thoughts?
I dont have any good pair of black dress shoes so I am leaning that way.

also any decent deals on C&Js right now?

I am not a big fan of pebbled leather, just looks cheap to me somehow... I would have to skip those... thanks though

I actually think they're a great looking country shoe but that's just my opinion. I don't know about cheap looking but C&J are quite happy to put it on the front page of their site ...

In any case, you can go to here, filter by sole and take your pick - looks like a ton of choices there. Also, the Monkton isn't cap toed so you could still consider that or maybe a dark brown Swansea if you want a wingtip derby.

Pembroke is also available in C&J's corrected grain 'Cavalry' calf leather on a danite rubber sole in burgundy and black colours. Ebay seller 'Salsalocust' who has posted on the forum has a nice e.g. in burgundy here:

I've handled a pair in black and the corrected grain is no way near as plasticy as Church's polised binder leather.

Just received these back from having a resole at C&J

They look great inimitable, inspired me to take a photo of my Marston, my only loafers, they are about 2 years old and I've always been impressed with the leather quality of this pair, I only brush before and after each wear, I think I have polished this shoes only twice in 2 years.

Cliffords 2 weeks in a row... trying to break them in to hopefully decrease the heel slippage.

Are you wearing the Cliffords every day?
