I do enjoy it. It is very relaxing compared to most sports IMO. I don't take it very serious so I find I enjoy it a lot more than I do with other sports I take more competitively.

Seems a bit too "slackerish" for you, Fran. And I mean no disrepect to anyone in saying that. It is a fun game, but most of the people I run into while playing a quite stoned.

briefly considered it...but when I realized that I didn't need to buy a bunch of expensive new equipment, I lost interest.

LOL @ playing on a course. I used to play semi-regularly with friends - I lived on a huge tract of land and whenever we'd BBQ we'd head out with our frisbees in one hand and beers in the other and play at targets. A tree here, a millstone there, a rock way over yonder. It was a fun way to pass the time and hang out with friends but it's nothing worth spending any more money than the six-pack on. I've seen those goofy courses with the baskets and all but jeepers, come on.

I've only played a small handful of times, but I had a lot of fun when I did. It was a good way to get out of the house for a bit on a nice day.

Though, for what it's worth, I find (ball?) golf to be more enjoyable.

Go watch a professional tournament some Saturday if they have them close by where you live. Me and some friends stumbled upon one while going to play a round one afternoon and promptly left after seeing these guys play.

We're talking consistent aces on par 3 and 4 holes (baskets?). These guys had frightening accuracy and were launching discs with what appeared to be very little effort. I heard winners can pull in a three or four grand each tournament so I imagine you could make a pretty good living if you were good at it and the tournaments were year round. Then again, you would have to tell people you are a professional disc golfer so I guess it's a trade-off.

The course nearby is really pretty as it winds through some woods. I'm just thinking about it as light exercise, not serious sport. I worry I might find real golf frustrating like my brother did. And it is a lot more expensive.
