I found little information on SF or the internet about this brand. It is rare in the US but there are some amount of paraboots floating around on eBay. I found this french blog (http://redingote.fr/breves/paraboot-made-in-france/) saying that paraboot is underrated. I also heard they are making shoes for hermes ? any one can confirm that ? Any one has opinions and experience with this brand ?

A local store here carries then and the owners are always telling me how well they are made, but he never has my size in them so I haven't ever tried on a pair.

on its website, they said all their shoes are made using either Goodyear or Norwegian welted construction, and each shoe go through more than 150 manual operations. but they also say that 350,000 pairs are made per year in the Isere valley by their 200 artisans. It's a lot of shoes for one person to make per day with 150 operations !!!!

They're good stuff. Very nice and distinctive casual shoes, and some models are a respectable but much cheaper alternative to JM Weston.

Brooks Brothers tried selling them, but no dice. Not sure if this is true of all Paraboots, but the Paraboot for BB shoes had an offensive brand-name tag in a conspicuous place. Like Bass Exeters but with the tag on the wing tip or something like that. American igents with any Paraboot experience might have gathered that from BB.

Paraboots are great: well-made and very comfortable. I have about 8 pairs and really like them although the leather isn't outstanding, it is much better than that used by Mephisto. Unfortunately they all have the little green tag. Zappos used to carry them, and theshoemart.com still carries them.

They seem pretty darned expensive for a shoe with leather that is not 'that outstanding' though

.

Shoemart has 'em for close to $500.

+1

Definitely high-quality construction, and I find them very comfortable. SF favorite Pediwear offers a wide range
