America is fat.

I'm an avid lurker of the buying and selling forum. I'm 6-2, 185lbs. I'm not in great shape although at all and I just joined Equinox to get into better shape. I'm feeling the age bulge. But I wear a 42L jacket and a 34 waist with a 34 plus (depending on the cut) inseam.

I am astonished at the amount of suits and pants for sale with a 36 waist and a 30-31 inseam! 36 inch waist and a 31 inch inseam?

C'mon guys!

I'm sure I'll get destroyed for posting this but sometimes the words just come out....

it's worse when you consider that some of these brands are vanity sized

The problem in America, or at least in major cities, is we love to meet for drinks and terrible finger foods. I'm pretty sure you don't see nachos, fried calamari, and mini burgers a lot in other countries.

you see, in europe and asia (at least the places ive been to) , eating and drinking is about atmosphere and sociality as well as nourishment.

in america, besides nourishment, it is about gluttony. pure and simple.

in paris and italy, they pour you a small cup of Coca Cola if you ask for one. they dont even ask you for which size.
Coca Cola in these places is considered a sort of 'dessert'. not a drink.

in America, you get 44 oz SUPER BIG GULPS and they get angry if you dont top it off to the way top.

6'2 185 doesn't sound bad at all unless you have zero muscle

6'2 185 lbs is perfect sounding to me, even if you have just avg muscle. 6'2 with shoes that is. (basically meaning 6'0 - 6'1 is perfect height imo)

6'2 or taller barefeet i consider on the too tall spectrum i case that together with the 5'8 and shorter complex

Not sure what age has anything to do with being thin or fat... self-control, a modicum of discipline and a healthy dose of self-respect is what is needed.
