Good Episode. I enjoyed the Peggy/Don dynamic. I hope they turn that into a mentor style relationship instead of going for the obvious sex angle.

I don't know if anybody caught it but we found out who Dr. Lyle Evans was: The man who cut off Burt Cooper's balls!

Still can't figure out the mouse meaning/symbolism.

I read it somewhere on the blogosphere (can't remember which now) but someone suggested that for Draper and Peggy the mouse finding another way out of the office signified there was more than one way out of their life predicament.

I'm surprised no one on these less than politically correct boards has commented on Blankenship's quip at the beginning of the episode.

Yeah that one was actually pretty hillarious.

As others mentioned, this might be the end of Don's downward spiral, and I hope it is. Show is getting depressing when it's just down lounging around the office in a grumpy mood getting shitfaced. (allthough the lost weekend he had last episode was pretty funny, going home with the brunette and waking up with the waitress or whatever she was)

I have a feeling it'll happen fairly soon. Before, Don was obviously hiding things, depressed, detached, and drinking too much, but it was really only obvious to the audience. Now, those around him are starting to notice (and notice that AA is getting mentioned more and more). Not only is Don's drinking more obvious to those around him, but the audience is being shown more of a sloppy, helpless drunk than before.

Combine the obvious alcohol abuse with the death of Anna and the fact that he's finally opening up to somebody who actually knows him (Peggy), I think his turnaround is being set up. It might take until next season, but it's coming. I'm just curious to see where it goes.

I'm wondering if Duck falling off the wagon might tie in here. Drunken Don, drunken Duck, Peggy as the fulcrum. Also, it seemed to me that when Duck was on the wagon, he really sucked at his job. Didn't he get cut loose as a consultant while dry?

Btw, has anyone caught that Don's current secretary was Daniel's mother in the original Karate Kid?

Well if we're talking about stuff like his drunken excapade with Laine, so do I. If we're talking about the grouchy drink to drown his sorrows and loose control kind of thing, the whole helpless and pathetic drunk thing, then I'm not a fan. Obviously the show needs to do this stuff as the show would get old quick if it was just Don being awesome season in and season out, but I hope he does get his groove back soon, as that's what made the show cool to begin with.

I think Don is a total scum bag and enjoyed seeing him fall. It'd be silly (and very Entouragesque) for everything to be back to normal after only a few episodes.
