The flower mix up was hilarious.

"The fact that you're the kind of person who can not accept blame is egregious."

"....I dont know what that means."

Everything else too, just the situation, what the notes said, and how Pryce yells Sandy's name.

I thought it was a well balanced episode. Every scene of the show can't and shouldn't be about office politics. California shows the strain Don is under maintaining his false life. He is a scum bag in NYC but a normal guy in California. The thing with the niece was creepy but we already know that about Don. Anna is living vicariously through him (hence why she didn't care he was flirting with said niece - plus she doesn't like her sister). I'm interested to see what happens to Don after Anna dies. I also believe Don will commit suicide (hence the opening credits). I'm also impatient to see where this show is going. Lane and Joan are awesome characters and something will develop between them. Joan was crying because she liked the tenderness of her husband treating her, plus she was afraid about their future. I hate Betty and want to see more of Don being a dick to her, however I like her new man and dislike Don so I want to see her move out and get her comeuppance via new man's mom.

Whew.

I don't think the opening credits are necessarily meant to foreshadow any suicide. I always took it as a metaphor for danger and lack of control, particularly in cut-throat, high-stakes business. Don's entire life is one big, messy example of lack of control, even when he appears to be fully in control.

Sort of this for me. I always figured it represented his life being out of control, from who he really is, to his sexual appetites, to his drinking and sort of comments that he is so far into the life he leads, he cannot ever get out of it. Also, notice the fall ends with him sitting comfortably in a chair with a drink. I think this is how many of us feel on some level. You get this big job, big lifestyle, and the job and lifestyle sort of overwhelm who you really are. Who you really are only gets to come out as you sit and think over a whisky.

No way Don commits suicide. I think it will end with him sitting in a wood-paneled diner listening to a Journey song.

It is like don is just tumbling through life. Things have just sort of happened for him. He got his new identity because he happened to be the only person within miles when the guy who was about to be sent home got shot. It isn't clear exactly how he took his new identity from used car salesman to creative director but it seems that he basically stumbled into something he was good that greatly rewarded talent (I know he took night classes and stuff but really he rose on raw creative talent). Things tend to work out for him in the grand scheme (he has definately had his share of small "fails" recently though) and he isn't exactly sure how.

A MM X Glee crossover would be one way to save this mess of a show.

Neither message would have been good for either party - that was probably the funniest part.

Well - that does it. It's official I have no idea why women behave the way they do because my guess on Joan's crying is completely different from Reggs, Piobaire and Trini. Good luck to my girlfriend.

i though joan burst into tears because greg was able to take care of her, instead of being a ****-up.

or even if he can take care of her... he's still going to be a **** up. think about it, even if he does become a successful surgeon he's still going to be detached and headstrong never thinking about her. when he wanted to trying public sex he ended up just ****** joan on don's office floor. she's just at that stage where she wants to have kids but understands (through all of the divorced **** ups in the office) that even having money, husband, and stable job doesn't guaranty ****. she's basically the female don draper. i just re-watched the last episode with my wife and realized that the whole episode was such a ******* downer... but in a good way... all the sets and scenes were just beaming with light and technicolor (pure eye candy) but everything was about relationships going to **** (even don and the brits new friendship/kinship is ******* depressing and sad). i have a feeling that don's secretary is going to bag him and have him marry her eventually... she's a trooper - she took don's brush off then kept right on being the good secretary/work wife. did you notice that don made the brit and whore **** in his own room, and avoided soiling the kids guest room with his own whore and just fucked out in the open on the couch?

Hi there. Welcome to the world of women, where men -- and women -- have no idea why women do the **** they do. Nor do men -- or women -- truly understand what a woman will want, think, feel, or do next. Enjoy your stay, and please tell a friend.

i thought that was peggy. anyhow, i agree that greg is basically a ****-up, though not totally incompetent. his biggest flaw is being dense, which prevents him from appreciating how formidable joan really is, but it seems there may be a positive side to it all. everybody needs a break once in a while. on the other hand, joan is having trouble letting go of her idea of female success: marry a successful man. we know she'd like to do something other than run the office and be in charge of the secretaries, but she's held herself back. maybe she will get more ambitious and seek peggy's advice this season.

I'm surprised there are so many here that hates Betty but nobody made a post about how irritating and childish Pete Campbell is. I never liked him but once in a while he does surprise me, he's a little dick to his wife too.

I actually like Betty, although she is childish, it wasn't her fault...Don fucked it all up and he knows it, I really have to give Betty credit for being able to exercise so much control, I didn't like it when that random guy got to bone her in the bar but I guess she deserved that one.
