How to straighten hair? Blow dryer or flat iron?

Hi guys, so I've been growing my hair long for a while now and I'm about to start trying out different techniques to straighten it. I am still learning how to straighten it with a flat iron. I never used one before so I still got a learning curve on that. I also bought a 2" iron instead of a smaller one, so that was the first mistake. Today I went to the salon and got my hair styled. My stylist did it using just a blow dryer and a curling hair brush.

I was wondering what some people on the forum are using and if they have any advice/tips on this subject.

Additionally, do any of you guys use anything in particular after straightening it to give it a nice wet look and keep the hair straight? I've noticed that if I just add a little bit of water after straightening it, the hair just becomes wavy again.

Just go get a Brazilian Blowout or Brazilian Keratin Treatment at the salon. You won't have to do any flat ironing.

That stuff is seriously way too expensive. I'd rather just spend money on a good flat iron and do it myself.

I use a 1" flat iron(this one), my hair isn't long enough for a 2". Straightening with a blow dryer doesn't work very well for me.

Haha, this is pretty good. I wish my hair was as straight as his just after drying though. Mine is pretty wavy, but it straightens out well.

Yeah a flat iron is probably easier for that. There are many tips and tricks on the internet though about straghtening your hair. It also depends a lot on:
- Length of your hair
- How curly is it
- How moist is it during the day. Moist weather will mess with your straightened hair.

Advantages of Using a Prepaid Credit Card

There are many benefits to using a prepaid credit card.
A prepaid credit, also known as a secured credit card
is defined by bank rate as a credit card that, "...requires
a cash collateral deposit that becomes the credit line for
that account prepaid debit cards

The problem about the iron is that result will be flat. I think the dryer + good roll brush is the best method.

- start with damp hair
- apply product (straightening serum or something)
- start blow drying the roots, then work your way towards the ends.
- keep the brush constantly rolling/turning
- make sure the air from the dryer is pointing towards the roots (makes the hair more smooth and shiny)
- apply cold air when finished (locks in the style and gives the hair extra shine)
- apply a little bit of product at the end (settles the hair down a bit)
