How long till Hermes cartoon/icon ties are laughably outdated? (like acid wash jeans)

If time and money were not as big a deal as they seem to be I'd have a much larger collection of these "silly" ties. You can't wear them all the time, nor should one, but once a month they make for a nice change of pace.

I recall seeing one on Ebay of a hat, rabbit, wand and then rabbit in hat that I have wished I pulled the trigger on for ages. 4+ years I've been thinking about that tie and it's spot in my collection.

I too am haunted by auctions lost/missed (Dior tie, Paul & Shark knit, LV trousers, Dolce sportcoat) but what can ya do...

And I like the pattern on the hippo tie, but I think the colours are awful (red, grey and black? Eugh!!), why do so many people seem to genuinely love that one?

I mostly just like the actual hippo design itself. It'd be better as a navy field, grey lilies, red hippos, or something like that. I need to stop reading this thread. It's driving me to a murderous hippo-lust; an urge to go plunder all the Hermes boutiques in London right this second in search of this tie.

These prints are classic, they have been around for 20 or 30 years now and wont go away.

They may not be the OP's taste but (at least for my sales) they are 2x more popular than the traditional interlocking prints and command the best prices.

In general animal patterns across many brands are very popular. Ferragamo for example. Brooks makes a few animal prints as does Burberry and a few others and they are vastly more popular than other patterns. For Brooks, their stripes are the most popular but no animal print ever lasts more than a week.

Animals are popular prints and I think they always will be.

Try as I might, I can't rid myself of my fondness for my Hermes boxing kangaroos print tie

In that case I'll take an AK-47 tie.

If you guys ever need any Hermes items, PM Spoo. I believe that he robs an Hermes delivery truck every other month or so.
