That's Leo. I think his style is...how does one say...wikkid pissah. But yes, I'd have a hard time donning those pants without garnering some ridicule.

I hear whispers and comments about me daily on the subway, at bars, wherever. It blows my mind because I don't stand out that much. I live in NYC. If I had a dollar for every time some tactless bastard has either yelled "Superman" or "Clark Kent" at me I could probably retire by 25.

All in all I am used to it and just take it as complimentary.

I think they're nice. But remember, it is an English tradition to mercilessly rip the piss out of any of your peers who dare to try / wear / do anything different.

Indeed. Wasn't Australia originally a penal colony for sartorial misfits?

You should have just added some blackcurrant to that Guinness it would've picked up the colour of your mocs. If nothing else it would have improved the flavour of that crap. National eh? Did you pick the winner?........I did...!!!

Watch what you say about the black stuff, thats pretty much blasphemy!! I like the idea of colour coding drinks to ones clothing!

Didn't pick the winner i had an each way on Ruby Walsh's horse and then he went and broke his arm before the race! at least it placed with the stand in jockey. My brother picked the winner though and didn't let me forget it all day.

Cheers
Jim

Regarding the original posters original question: yes, of course. That is part of the game. Now, when I wear my light blue Bruno Magli loafers I actually feel that I deserve it. I still like them, though.

OP - this sort of thing rarely happens to me but i just roll my eyes and ignore the commenter, or given them one of these

, like "you're an idiot" and go on with whatever I was doing.
or I sincerely smile and say "thanks for noticing, they're great", then look at whatever they're wearing and quickly grimace and look away.

also, another point that comes up here and there, is clothing is as much about wearing what's appropriate, so in your case it's not that you were wearing something bad, just not what helps you fit in in the place you went to...

Sorry but when you choose to go somewhere, you're the one who needs to be aware of the environment you're getting into and adapt to it - or go somewhere else. Don't go to a pub wearing purple shoes if being laughed at bothers you. Actually, don't go anywhere wearing purple shoes.... or yellow pants.
