Ive noticed this over the corse of time.
For example, lets say I have to wake up at 9.
If I go to sleep at lets say 10 and get 11 HOURS of sleep. I will wake up EXHAUSTED and almost cannot get out of bed and just go back to sleep.
Now lets say I go to sleep at 12 and get 9 hours of sleep. I will still be exhausted however not as badly.
If I get 8 hours of sleep its not terrible.
However if I get lets say 5 hours of sleep, I will wake up perfectly fine.
Comments? I feel like it may be some form of sleep apnea.

I would say that's pretty normal for me. If I oversleep I find myself just wanting to continue to sleep.

Some people sleep only a few hours and feel fine, others need at least 8 hours, so I guess it depends from the individual. But yeah, oversleeping makes me feel tired too.

I've found that I have a similar problem. There's a fine line for me between getting enough sleep and getting too much sleep. If I get enough I usually feel pretty good, but sleeping too much can actually leave me exhausted.

I've found it self-perpetuates as well. If I go through a period where I'm really tired I'll try to make sure I get some extra sleep. However, this usually leads to me feeling even more tired, rather than feeling recharged.

Try melatonine , the sleep hormone. Natural. I had the same problem and now sleep just 9.

tetrodotoxin is natural too, yet it would kill you. sry but this kind of online therapy without a serious problem just makes me angry. medication should always be the last solution ..

sleeping too much will always exhaust you, there are no more rem-phases, which are the reason for the rejuvenating effect for sleep. there's a 90 minute cycle in your sleep, from deep sleep to rem and back. the longer you sleep the shorter deep sleep and longer rem. until you usually wake up.

if you force yourself to sleep then you will not get into deep sleep nor into rem. you just bounce between awake and slow wave sleep. you can buy a sleeptracker watch if you want to find out when to wake up at the right time.

Thanks everyone for the imput. It all helped and its good so see its not just me lol.
I have also noticed that if I wake up on my own, I wake up perfectly fine. However if I get any amount of sleep, 5,6,7,11 w/e hours and get woken by someone unexpectedly or by an alarm, I wake up exhaused
