I realize neither of these boots is at home in a formal sessions, but does one have a modicum of formality on the other? Would one better serve a suit slightly lighter than tweed? I'll primarily wear these with jeans, but I want the most versatile boot.

lol who knows, not sure why I included that. I am surprised the Jumper is making a clean sweep. I know brogueing in proportion to casualness, but the AF79 is more streamlined than the Jumper Boot. By the way, whenever I look at Gene Wilder, images of bestiality are conjured up.

Here's a photos the user SLAB posted of his beautiful jumpers, they may be a tad too much for any fabric thinner than tweed, however.

I've got a pair of Alden Cap Toe (Jumpers) in black cordovan, and have worn them with blue jeans and gray pants and a black sweater. They have the plaza last, so they're not quite as round as the other "lasts". Don't think I would ever wear them with a suit.

A commando sole always says utility to me. So the AF79 seems more utilitarian, and therefore, casual.

Those Jumpers are a great boot. I think you could wear them easily with moleskin, denim, corduroy...
