I have the 35 Summicron Asph., which is a spectacular lens. The Summilux should give you equally good performance with one stop faster speed and more out-of-focus area wide open. Trust me, you're going to love it.

I'd recommend getting a 90 before getting a super-wide. The 90 Apo Summicron Asph is a fantastic portrait lens. Judging from what I've seen of your photos, you would really love this lens.

As for a wide-angle, you might want to consider the 24 Elmarit Asph. Everybody raves about this one and it will probably be more useful to you in the long run than a 21. I got the 21 because I already have a 24 R-series lens and am not satisfied with the performance of my 19 R.

Anyway, here's my new baby.

the 90 apo asph is also on my list of lenses. i think i am jumping at the ultra wide probably because i want something wider than 50mm at the moment (i dont have the 35 in my hands yet).

i was just having a look at the 24 asph and some photos and it looks awesome. i dont know which one ill end up buying first but hopefully both of them by summer time.

i also want to get a black paint mp with no engravings and vulkanite. but that can be later down the road....

Maybe I've seen movies like Mr & Mrs Smith once too often and I used to be in a profession where people might really be out to get you, but those things scare the crap out of me. I need my knives in a drawer at least.

Get used to using the 35 for a few months before considering another wide-angle. The 35, 50, 90 combination is incredibly versatile and can be used for the vast majority of the subjects you want to photograph. We might not see better optics than the Asph versions developed within our lifetimes. Learning to use them well is the real challenge.

I will say that there are times I am washing the dishes that they catch my eye and a weird image or two will flash through my mind ...

Today I bought a fat-ass leather rocker-recliner for me, and a rather more elegant wingback upholstered recliner for my wife.

Canon 30D w/battery grip and an 8 GB cf card. Pretty considerable upgrade from my girlfriend's XT I've been borrowing.

The 24-70mm F/2.8 L was a Christmas gift.

New pair of glasses. Prodesign Of Denmark Zense 7604 frames. Black Gloss exterior with a tortoiseshell interior. Pretty nice. Two more weeks of "Revenge Of The Nerds" though before they are ready. Blech.

No one had an M&P .45 at the gun show I went to today, so I was reduced to buying knives:

At 22 I bought my first flask tonight. To be used at a cash bar wedding this weekend. I am thinking of getting my initials engraved into the bottom right corner, small, discreet but there.
