Do white-collar employees do any real work on Fridays?

Since this is not in DT yet, the answer is yes, sometimes.

However I do remember days when it was quiet, so we'd spend the morning hanging around each other's offices drinking coffee, hit the mexican place at noon sharp for margaritas and tacos, come back at two, make a few calls while buzzed, and start the happy hour at three...

Ahhh, the good old times...

This is true for me too, except I get the most substantial work done on Tuesdays. Mondays are about sorting through my inbox and Fridays are about wrapping up the week. Because I'm not good with Wednesdays and Thursdays, wrapping up the week tends to mean 2-3 days worth of work in one day.

Depends on the company/organizational culture. How much "work:life balance" matters.

Fridays are usually one of my busiest days. First of all, in NJ Superior Court, Fridays are "motion days" (all motions are heard every other Friday). Also, a lot of people tend to put things off the whole week while they're busy and then on Friday night they think "you know, I should really go see a lawyer about that nagging burglary charge."

I finished an org chart for doing some recruitment, responded to some investor queries, wrote a letter and assembled a package for the admin to mail, listened to some office gossip, took some potential client calls... not bad so far. Going for lunch in a minute.

Went to a meeting. About to finish a two-page slick sheet filled with total crap. Total for entire week = maybe 4 hours. Just a small-medium timer, though.

But don't you get to ride over in the new Sports Ute?

I will actually be car-less for a few weeks, as the current goes back Nov 21.

Who supplied the bung for your plate? Or by "Klondike bar" were you talking about two chocolate patties with some white stuff in the middle?
