Finally got around to some gardening yesterday. Had to weed, fertilize and loosen the area out front that gets all the sun. The only logical explanation for all the stuff I have to throw out each year is that it grows garbage. All kinds of glass, bottle tops, wrappers etc.

Anyway, planted some sweet basil and a purple compact tomato. Going to probably get a black tomato as well and some eggplants. My mom gave me some cucumber plants that I have to plant eventually. That's probably it for my vegetables, I'm only one man so there's only so much I can eat.

Will get some flowers growing in pots later.

These are for bonsai but I hope you enjoy:

I'm really starting to get excited about my little garden. The herbs are doing well - the mint is insane, the oregano is thriving even despite a fair bit of harvesting to restock my pantry, and the rosemary is going strong. The only one that is moving even a little slow is the rosemary, but my understanding is that slow growths in young rosemary is normal, with development taking off in year two.

My pepper plants are doing great, too. The green pepper has set one fruit, and there are a handful more that are just about to blossom. They're so close that it wouldn't surprise me to see open flowers when I get home tonight, given its finally warm again. On top of the flowers/near flowers, the green pepper plant has probably close to 10 other buds in some stage of development.

The purple pepper plant also looks like it will have flowers soon, I'm guessing by the weekend. It has maybe 10 or so buds at various stages, too.

The jalapeño plant is also budding. No near flowers just yet, but easily a dozen little buds.

It I get fruit from even half of what I see budding/flowering, I'm going to be awash in peppers, and the growth so far bodes well for the rest of the season. It has been unseasonably cool here recently, but the forecast is now calling for perfect pepper-growing temps, so I'm excited to see how quickly things start to develop.

What part of the world do you live in?

I ask because I'm having trouble getting my pepper plants to do anything. Of the 8 that I planted, one has already died. None have actually grown since I planted them 3-4 weeks ago. Pretty much everything is growing like crazy....

Northern Georgia, at basically the same latitude as Atlanta.

Mine are all in containers, and I transplanted them about three weeks ago.

I haven't done anything special. They're in whatever organic soil it was that Home Depot had, and I added Garden Tone organic fertilizer when I transplanted them. Other than that, I've watered basically every other day while accounting for rain, and I'll fertilize again as each plant sets fruit (maybe tonight for the green peppers if those almost-blossoms flower).

Question for anyone who might be inclined to answer: My wife bought some lettuce from the store, hydroponic IIRC, and it still has a nice root ball attached. If I plant that and take care of it, is there any chance I'll have success growing it? The lettuce that's on there is super healthy and green, so it seems like it might come back, but I don't want to waste my time if it's a lost cause.

Put some stuff in pots last weekend. Didn't take a photo of the big pitcher plant I got but I love those things. It's a double-flowering one, too.

Strawberry:

This is my favorite. The flowers are just growing every which way and the pot is awesome.

Just some gladioulus. Going to make an arrangement with this, the above and

Thought I had more room in the pots but I didn't so i just stuck them in a pot. Going to get something to cascade in the front. Maybe something yellow? IRDK.
