Jacket and jeans combo? I've always just worn my usual pair of jeans with my usual jacket.

chorse123 just answered this question in MC. basically wear clean dark denim and treat it like it's tweed. brogues, sweaters, knit and/or wool ties, hearty jackets.

Is OP talking about a sportscoat? If so, many people on WAYWT have done (slim) dark (wash/raw) denim with a nice belt, (tucked in) slim OCBD and sportscoat.

The most important part, as someone else have said, is the material. Linen, cotton, cord, or flannel are great casual materials.

If OP is talking about a jacket, then I can only go "wow, wtf?"

The trick is for the jacket and jeans to be exactly the same color

Dewey: Perchance I have even seen that post (and think its complete BS since I dislike black jeans per se). The Tweed comment is good, though. I believe that more losely woven fabrics/thicker fabrics are better as are of course colours that complement a blue (!) jean better: blues and browns and also some light-coloured cords, I'd say.. please post pics of "totally epic" esp when he pulled it off!

This is pretty good and concise, thanks!
