Do people who don't wash jeans for six months have no lives?

I think it's all been said before. If they're dirty/smelly, wash 'em. You don't need to stretch out the no wash period, it just enhances contrast fades.

My Skulls are going on 8 months now without a wash. I've been wearing them a lot lately during winter, but I wasn't wearing them so much over summer. My sense of smell is a bit marsupialed, can't smell much of anything, but they aren't dirty yet, and nobody has stopped me to tell me they stink. I think as the temperatures pick up again now, they'll soon be needing a wash.

I'm not too hard on my jeans, not by design though. Maybe I don't have a life? I know I'm on here way too much anyway!

i got my first pair of raw denim this past december, and i was able to go 3.5 months without washing them. around the 3.5 month mark, they felt dirty. i had to wash them. i didnt have a rotation though, so people that have one could presumeably go longer without washing them.

If you have a lot of rotation ,then not washing them for a few months doesn't really achieve the desired effect, because they haven't been worn enough. It's not the time that matters, it's how often they've been worn in to get the fades.

I'm also not sure how you guys pull off wearing these things without beater shoes and dark colored shirts you don't mind getting dye on.. not to mention leaving blue /black stains on your car seats and other people's car seats.

same boat as M@t... smell of smoke and liquor, 95 degree weather, too much beans in my diet.... I felt sorry for my small kids who could smell them jeans when we stand together.

That sucks...I never smell bad. If your BO smells like ass, you'll have a harder time breaking in raw denim.

How the hell do you do that?

I have a moderately active social life, so I wake up in the morning, and my jeans stink like cigarettes from whatever dark places I spent the preceding evening in. It's hot here too, so I sweat in them...but even aside from the fact that you guys mostly live in places with temperate climates and smoking bans...how the hell do you go six months without washing them? Do you never leave the house?

supposedly the Japanese wash frequently with great results due to the difference in climate

when I am in Asia, I wash frequently, minimum weekly

smelly = wash, too dirty = wash, some dirt = no wash.

i've just gone a year before first wash of a couple of my favourite pairs, but probably only wear them once or twice a week. skinny jeans get a wash when they've stretched too much, but that takes quite a while.

yeah it depends where you live. I could go all winter in beijing without washing a pair probably, since it's so ******* cold I'm wearing thermals under them anyway. In the summer though, you need to wash them every couple weeks. The weather here is ******* nasty, 32-37 degree heat with 80% humidity and up, the sweat and dirt just clings to your body. If you wear a clean white shirt in the summer, by the end of the day it will have brown/black stains on the cuffs and the neck, got to wash that **** every day.

I've been wearing a pair of APCs since February almost every day. I wore them to nightclubs, playing soccer, under the rain, and they don't smell yet. I did wash the hems when my feet literally got buried in sheep **** though...

lulz__ for $200++ per pair? they better [damn] look great!

that said, imo, it's all about how you are able to incorporate [your denim enthusiasm] into your lifestyle. i mean, it's not lke you're watching paint dry.

as for the washing part: i usually abstain until i've laid down an acceptable "base"__ after that i wash as needed.

Ive been going since march with no washes on my new standards. I wear them almost daily. Considering washing them soon, but I was with a girl tonight, and I made her smell them. She said they were fine.
