Nylon shorts with pockets, and any t-shirt laying around unless it's super hot out. Then I wear polyester shirts or tanks. I wear sambas when I play. I know they don't really have much cushioning, but since I primarily play on hartru, I don't really need all that much cushioning. If I had to play on hard courts, I'd definitely have to look into more serious footwear. I just got a new ncode racket (from costco for like, 50 bucks!), after having used this wilson slope racket for years. I use problend strings because I'm cheap (I hate replacing strings), and, well, I'm a rec player. I play 4-5 times a week, but I am what I am, which is a rec player.

I wear the adidas climacool stuff, but good lord does it stink when you sweat in it. I am considering a switch to cotton stuff.

Does linen sportswear exist? That would be ideal.

It's cool. I'm really only anal about what I wear. I don't judge too harshly on the court.

It looks nice though..

I play in Lacoste Polos and Addidas Shorts with white shoes. Keep it simple.

Black Nike shorts, White Nike Dry Fit, and White Adidas' shoes. Baseball cap is imperative (for the sun). Used to play with Head Radical, moved to Wilson nCode.

white polo shirt
white tennis shorts (you need pockets)
new balance tennis shoes. nikes and adidas are usually too narrow for my feet.

I play a lot of tennis:
- barricades on the feet
- nike or addidas wicky shirts (really great for hot weather)
- random shorts

I have a pair of whites if I have to play at a country club.

So do it, imo it's the easiest sport to play with people that are better than you by simple virtue of the more balls you hit the better you will get, your friends/coach if they are good will return most of your balls no matter how bad they are.

Not to mention that, without a fence, you'd spend more time chasing balls down the beach than playing tennis.

I play in Nike tennis shoes, blue/white Nike tennis shorts and mostly Nike dry-fit collared polo shirts of different colors (mostly white to reflect the sun). I'm not a slave to Nike, but I do happen to think they make the most stylish tennis clothes.

Incidentally, the best dressed tennis player EVER is Roger Federer. Did anyone see his 'Darth Federer' outfit a few years ago at the US Open. I don't think anyone else could have pulled this off but he looked bad-ass (which is some feat in tennis gear lol):

He can go a little too far at Wimbeldon with his RF cardigans and so on, but his on-court gear is always beautiful. Here's his Wimbledon outfit from the historic 2008 final:

Sampras was best looking man player in Wimbledon whites. Sampras hairy real man, Federer metrosexual, similar Sean Connery to Daniel Craig. Since after US Open 2004 Federer transform from carefree cool ponytail Swiss to what is now. Also douche "friends" as Tigre Woods and Anna Wintour. So stupid how commentators always say he make text message with Woods to compare number major titles. Federer look like Klaus Nomi with his ridiculous Wimbledon jacket which start since 2006! And the stupid Nike 15 jacket immediately after this year Wimbledon final presumptuous and arrogant! For woman tennis, I like Mausesmo!
