is tennis warehouse the best spot online to buy a racquet? looked at ebay as well - not too sure about authenticity issues.

I love Tennis Warehouse. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. Great service, and their racquet reviews are great.

That said, IMO there's no substitute for demo-ing a racquet before purchase, and I don't know anything about their demo program. Which is not to say that conventional retail places have great demo programs either... just saying I can't comment on the specifics of T-W's program, if there is one.

Cheers, thanks for the response. My club has got a great demo program, prices are much better on T-W though. Don't feel too bad about not buying from them, I must spend a grand on patio beers over the summer.

Big +1 for TW. Great service, selection, and prices. Not always the absolute cheapest, but always at least close. Have used their demo program a few times, and in fact have one of their rackets now. The demo is free; you just pay for the shipping.

I don't play tennis enough to own dedicated clothes for it. I usually wear a random pair of gym short or swim trunks. My racket is a $20 racket I bought years ago when signing up for a tennis class in college. Shoes are an old pair (still in great shape) I've had since college and use for gym. As I've started playing more often with a co-worker I may buy a new racket.

Conne doesn't work enough to own dedicated clothes for it, and yet he does.

A pair of tennis shorts and a proper shirt can be had on T-W for like $35 all-in.
