We've had the Castello di Meleto today. While we're at the topic of corked wine, I think it had slight cork or at least was off in some way. It was decent with the food but unfortunately off when drank alone. Nose was good though. Bummer.

With a strawberry liquor I'd definitely agree. If you tasted the wine you might feel different but ya, there is the risk of too much complimentary stuff. Maybe a rhubarb dessert or something with mint.

Two cheapies, but goodies:

My colleague in the next office thanks you. He's into PNW wines.

The CMS is quickly becoming a daily staple at my dinner table.

Can't wait for Friday. I'm drinking a Merlot.

Why wait until Friday? Enjoy a Merlot on a Monday!

This was flippin amazing last night. I would like to taste this with some more age on it. I have enjoyed a lot of Dunham Cellar's wines.

This is the same producer as the CMS. Merlot, or mostly Merlot, a bit lighter than the CMS.

Another crappy photo. Great Champ. I don't know how to describe flavors in white wines, or Champ, but I liked the dryness. I tend to not like sweeter, or more fruit forward Champs.

My bball game was cancelled so I decided to crack this open. Definitely going back for a case. $15. 2010 Osel Ruche di Castagnole Monferrato.

Really spicy, alpine, light color, tons of flavor, has developed some fruit after 1/2 hour. Very distinct and interesting. I would imagine its not for everyone's taste, definitely not a chick wine.

You'd be surprised I think. If it was up to my girlfriend we would drink Syrah and unaged Bandol every night. Would be fine with me, but I think I would go broke.

Just got back from Burgundy. I'll post my loot later (brought back 9 bottles). It was an amazing trip. Stayed at Saulieu and made our way through the region to taste each day. I didn't think I'd like it as much as Montalcino but the wines were better and the countryside and, surprisingly, the food, were just as spectacular.
