When I was in 5th grade (I think) I went to Washington DC, and alongside the Mall at a street souvenier vendor, bought a little replica of the Washington Monument with a termometer attached to the side.

So I voted "yes"

Mine is black onyx, about 2' tall. Just a basic (elongated) triangle that I got in one of those tourist-trap shops in Mexico years ago. I think it was in Cancun. The tip has been broken off and Crazy Glue'd back on, but it was a clean break and isn't terribly obvious. I keep it on a corner of my coffee table where it goes well with the rest of my decor, which is basically angular, chrome, glass, and black and white.
