I've been eying up this season's Indigo Shawl Collar Cardigan. Anyone have experience with it and have some thoughts to share on it like sizing and look/feel in person? It's a high price to pay and I know price is in the eye of the beholder, but curious as to your thoughts to help sway me either way.

EDIT: Link added: https://unionmadegoods.com/product/rrl-cotton-shawl-cardigan-in-indigo/

it's a beautiful cardigan. the rrl store in hk had it on clearance sale since it was shuting down. I didn't get it just because HK's weather wouldn't allow me to wear it often, but if you do , i'd say it's a good investment. the indigo color is stunning and one of a kind. i'd test my luck and wait till the price drops to 3-400 bucks though

I didn't realize that the HK RRL store had closed. That store opened less than two years ago, I think.

If the NYC-Broadway store or LA-Melrose store closes, that may well signal the end of the label.

I've spoken to employees at both stores and they insist they're staying open, but who knows?

It may be simply that the company is trying to reduce real estate expenses. It probably makes more financial sense to sell RRL at existing full-line stores, like they do in Tokyo. After all, the rents on these stores in HK, London, and Bleecker must be atrocious.

Quick question but does RRL ship from a warehouse or do they pull inventory from some of their stores to fulfill online orders? I made an order the other day and for some reason one item shipped but the other has not even though online shows that specific item still in stock.

Either, depending on the item.

Right now I've had an order stuck for a week or so because I think one item has to be shipped from a store and the other from a warehouse, so they need to get them together first. (Should have ordered each separately, but stock was running low on one so I immediately jumped on it.)

That's interesting, especially as it seems I am encountering the opposite problem as you, with one item being shipped and the other still in limbo. Weird also because the charge in paypal is still showing as pending but some came out for the 1 item that shipped. I've actually never seen that happen before. Thank you for the help as well, I appreciate it.

I've had RRL and even non RRL items ship from a store.
The items shipped from stores take longer to ship out.

Most everything ships from the warehouse in NC, and items not in stock at WH are shipped from a store if available. BTW, the website seldom reflects actual inventory at the WH (I have had at least a dozen, if not more, orders cancelled on me).

Thanks man I appreciate the help. Surprised such a big company doesn't have their stock and online system linked up better. I'm hopeful seeing as there seems to be a full size run of the item I ordered online.

yes, this is the lee gardens store that's now carrying RRL, the visual merchandising is just out of the context.

Tokyo has a standalone store since last year. Let's see if it folds as well cause it's the last international store.

This happens fairly frequently, moreso around sale times. I've had orders shipped in as many as 3 separate shipments, and IIRC, each is charged to my card as it is shipped. I am super-impressed with their logistics to be honest. Most times, I place an order on day 0 and by day 1, never later than day 2, the shipment is delivered using regular mail. I've never had an order delayed a week though.
