Be honest, do you have trouble getting a central tie dimple?

I'm anal enough that I'll re-tie if I don't end up with a nice dimple...

I find it depends on the tie, and how the silk is finished.

Some are perfect every time, some are ... not perfect every time!

This question caused a well-up of anger, thank you.

I always end up with the outside edges folded over in what my wife calls 'railroad tracks'. I have to loosen the knot, and go digging for where it went out of shape. By the time I muck around until a dimple forms I've broken a sweat.

Yes I'm hopeless. I've been wearing ties for well over 30 yrs and still struggle to get a decent knot...

I usually get it right on the first try; however, if I don't, then oddly it takes several attempts before I get it right.

Some ties can be difficult, but they can usually be rendered consistently compliant by "training"---take the tie, fold it down the center, and place it in a book overnight. It won't (or shouldn't, try at your own risk!) crease the tie permanently, but the interlining will remember where it's supposed to be dimpled.

Why the hell would you want a single cycloptic tie dimple?

I do dimplets, two of them, every time.

I voted "no" because I never try to get the dimple. It happens consistently with some ties, not so much with others.
